About Sven Christiansen

Sven Christiansen is a privately owned British furniture manufacturing company, established in 1974. Our factory is in Kingswinford, West Midlands and we have showrooms there and in Great Portland Street, London. In addition our furniture is displayed in the showrooms of our distributors throughout the UK. We manufacture a very wide range of high quality furniture for general and executive offices, for conference and meeting rooms, for receptions and for many other applications. Our seating complements our furniture and enables us to provide a comprehensive package. We have built up a reputation as a very reliable supplier of great integrity based on the experience of tens of thousands of satisfied customers over more than thirty years.

Sven and the Environment

We operate an Environmental Management System that meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001, independently certificated by BSI (certificate no. EMS 504871). We also operate a Quality Management System meeting BS EN ISO 9001, also certificated by BSI (certificate no. FM 86198).

We undertake ongoing review of our products, raw materials and processes with the objective of continual improvement in our environmental performance. To minimise our waste to landfill we have invested in a wood burning furnace with clean-air afterburners, which disposes of much of our waste timber and extracted dust. The furnace reduces the amount of waste timber going to landfill and also provides heating for our factory. We are fully committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations wherever possible.

Cable Management specifications and options

All X-Range worksurfaces are fitted with access cutouts as standard. M pattern metal frames have a single wide upright formed from a radiused section and incorporate a cable riser as standard. The B pattern frame has twin uprights formed from rectangular section tube: an optional cable riser (in slate) may be clipped between the uprights. Optional cable trays fit to the inside of modesty panels and route cables from one end of a desk to the other while also providing storage for excess cable. Bench desks (other than initial modules) incorporate a power tower that routes cables from floor to desktop: additional power towers are also available and may be fitted at any point along the length except where there is a cross rail. Wire cable trays are available as an option on both bench desks and conference tables. Cable access ports are optional on tables.

Cleaning
X-Range surfaces should be cleaned only with a damp cloth and soft duster. We recommend that spray polishes are not used as they may cause unwanted visual effects such as smearing and excessive gloss. 57

X-Range furniture is guaranteed for a period of five years against any defect resulting from faulty materials or workmanship (three years in the case of moving parts).
