How to Schedule an Elective with an Affiliated Hospital 1. Contact the affiliated clinical site. 2. Introduce yourself and Ross University. Let the coordinator know which rotation you are inquiring about. 3. Request the appropriate start and end date for the rotation. 4. Contact any Ross Clinical Advisor via AskRoss with the following information: a. Name and ID Number b. Rotation Title c. Rotation Start and End Dates d. The Hospital where you will be doing the rotation e. The name of the hospital coordinator who assisted you How to Schedule an Elective with a Non-Affiliated Hospital 1. Before contacting the hospital, please verify that the hospital is an ACGME/AOA accredited teaching hospital or an affiliate of an accredited hospital. 2. Contact the hospitals Medical Education Department or the specific department for the rotation you are interested in completing. 3. Introduce yourself to this department as a Ross University medical student. 4. Check for availability, application requirements, application processing time, additional paperwork that may be required, and the deadline for the submission of all paperwork.

Scheduling Non-affiliate Rotations in NY 1. Contact the non-affiliated clinical site. a. The site must be a teaching hospital or one that is affiliated with a teaching hospital. b. The site must have ACGME or AOA accreditation. 2. Introduce yourself and Ross University. Let the coordinator know which rotation you are inquiring about. 3. Ask the coordinator what procedures need to be followed for participation in a student clerkship. 4. Contact any Ross Clinical Advisor and advise them of the hospitals procedure. *NOTE: All New York Non-Affiliated Rotations are limited to a total of 12-weeks; cores and/or electives. You must fill out a NY State Eligibility Form which can be found on the myRoss website. Scheduling Electives in Florida 1. Contact the non-affiliated clinical site. a. The site must be a teaching hospital or one that is affiliated with a teaching hospital. b. The site must have ACGME or AOA accreditation. 2. Introduce yourself and Ross University. If you are planning a rotation in Florida, an agreement must be in place before you can start. Scheduling Non-affiliate Rotations in NJ Students are NOT allowed to complete any weeks of non-affiliate rotations in the state of New Jersey.
