    UPSC Civil Services 2014 Exam dates announced, Prelims to be held in August next year

    Union Public Service Commission has announced the approved annual program for all its Competitive exams including the Civil Services Exam (CSE) for the year 2014. Deviating from the norm of holding it in the month of May, next year (2014) the Preliminary exams are scheduled to be held on August 24, a good 3 months beyond the 2013 exam date of May 26. This is good news for the aspirants, as the overall procedure starting with the Prelims exam and ending with the final result declaration should now be considerably reduced (viz. 3 months). In the best case scenario that UPSC declares the Prelims result within 1 month of the conduction of exam, the students will have just 80 days between the result announcement and the Mains exam. This means that the candidates should now, not wait for the prelims results to come out and start preparing for the Mains exam from the very beginning. That debate is put to an end, once and for all.
