NARRATIVE TO ACCOMPANY THE AWARD OF BRONZE STAR MEDEL TO SERGEANT FIRST CLASS LESTER M.

LEGETTE During his 12 month combat tour in support of Operation New Dawn and Enduring Freedom, SFC Legette served as 160th Signal Brigade Senior Logistician ISO the U.S. CENTCOM AOR covering both Operation New Dawn and Operation Enduring Freedom. SFC Legette was directly responsible for the successful mission completion of the Iraqi Responsible Drawdown. He effectively managed and led Tiger Teams responsible for the accountability, and redistribution of $6.5 million of communication. In addition he also oversaw the transfer of over $85 million worth of network equipment used to support OSC-I 10 enduring sites. His leadership was instrumental in the successful reduction of the Signal footprint ISO Operation New Dawn SFC Legette traveled frequently into Iraq and Afghanistan, placing himself in harms way while supporting various outlying mission critical location such as Bagram, Kandahar, ISAF, Camp Eggers, New Kabul compound, Camp Phoenix and others establishing critical lines of importation and exportation ensuring that critical communication repair parts could get to camps in austere locations in a rapid response time, resulting in no lost of communication support to Soldiers on the Battlefield. In addition SFC Legette streamlined and maintained the Brigade CSDP program ensuring that 42 UIC with assets valued at over, $201 million was in compliance. He also oversaw the CJOA wide inventories, which saved the Government over $3.5 million dollars and reestablished accountability of over 3,000 pieces of equipment. SFC Legette extensively traveled the CJOA effectively cross training two 94W and 29 civilians and 92Y on logistical operations resulting in them being able to effectively manage the battalion S4's and company supply rooms resulting in them being able to effectively provide logistical communication support to the entire CJOA. He continuously fostered relationships with outside agencies throughout the CJOA that proved instrumental in getting soldiers deployed in combat areas the equipment they needed to fight and win. He was directly responsible for locating, escorting, and shipping four containers that had been lost for a period of two months to the 230th Signal Company that enabled them to successfully complete their mission. On numerous occasions he used his resourcefulness and knowledge of his PMOS to conduct logistical operations throughout the CJOA, which directly impacted Leaders and Soldiers throughout the entire South West Asia Theater. SFC Legette dedicated service was the driving force behind the success of the 160th Signal Brigade
