    Kindergarten: 90% Spanish- 10% English First grade: 80% Spanish-20% English Second grade: 70% Spanish-30% English Third grade: 60% Spanish- 40% English Fourth grade: 50% Spanish- 50% English Fifth grade: 50% Spanish- 50% English

    RESEARCH BACKS IT UP
    Students in dual language schools and dual language classrooms outscore non-dual language students Dual language students average reading scores exceed the statewide average scores in each grade After Grade 4, dual language students approach and exceed the average statewide scores of students who are a year ahead of them in school.

    RESEARCH BACKS IT UP
    Overall, Reading and Math scores of students in two -way dual language education are higher for all students regardless of race/ethnicity, socioeconomic, LEP or special education status. In most cases, by middle school, two -way dual language students, regardless of subgroup, are scoring as high in Reading and Math achievement as non -dual language students at least a grade ahead of them.
