ADHD

Duamel who is a second grader cant remain seated for more than 5 minutes, talks excessively and cant wait for his turn. He has an Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which known as ADHD. I hate you, I will kill you, and I dont want to do it, No! Does are what we can hear from ADHD children every day. It is hard to work with ADHD students, but there are some ways that can work out with ADHD students to make their behavior much better. To work with ADHD students, teachers must know and inform themselves about the ADHD.

Nearly 3-5% of childhood population in the United States suffers from ADHD. ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurobiological disorder characterized by developmentally inappropriate impulsivity, attention, and in some cases, hyperactivity beginning in childhood, "typically" by the age of 7. Children with ADHD often have a 2-4 year developmental delay and frequently have other coexisting conditions. ADHD is not the most hazardous or serious disorder. Basically, it is characterized by kids hyperactivity, inability to focus, and higher chances to distract from something. Many kids outgrow ADHD in teenage years. However, without proper treatment, ADHD may result in some negative effects for a person in the long run.

Many people think that when they see a child who is very hyperactive, impulsive, and inattentive behavior, they assume the child has an ADHD. One of the problems associated with ADHD is that determining it is not that easy. At least, lab

tests cannot show whether a child has this disorder or no. Children with ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder usually exhibit hyperactive, impulsive, and inattentive behavior. However, not all children who display such behaviors have ADHD. In fact, most normal children may show hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention at some time in their young lives which is normal for their age. Teacher and parents cant just assume that the child has an ADHD from the hyperactive behavior that they see in the class. Taking the child to a specialist is the best way to check if the child has ADHD or not. The doctors can give your child a series of tests to diagnose ADD and ADHD. In addition, the doctor can give parents how to help children to outgrow from the ADHD. However, most parents hesitate to have their child take a test for ADHD. But it is a crucial step to determine the right approach to use to help the child.

There are many studies about the causes of ADHD. First, brain functioning can causes ADHD. ADHD is a medical disorder, and it can be caused by a number of factors that affect how the brain develops and functions. Current research indicates the frontal lobe, basal ganglia, caudate nucleus, cerebellum, as well as other areas of the brain, play a significant role in ADHD because they are involved in complex processes that regulate behavior (Teeter, 1998). These higher order processes are referred to as executive functions. Executive functions include such processes as inhibition, working memory, planning, self-monitoring, verbal regulation, motor control, maintaining and changing mental set and emotional regulation which can see from ADHD students. Second, Heredity can cause an ADHD. Heredity is the most common cause of ADHD as it is know. The ADHD rate of occurrence will be

higher when there are biological family members who had ADHD previously. Dr. Joseph Biederman (1990) and his colleagues at the Massachusetts General Hospital have studied families of children with ADHD. They have found out that ADHD runs in families. They found that over 25% of the first-degree relatives of the families of ADHD children also had ADHD, whereas this rate was only about 5% in each of the control groups. Therefore, it shows if a child has ADHD there is a five% increase in the risk to other family members. In other words, ADHD is heritable from the previous family members. To sum up, there is no single cause for ADHD. Scientists agree that ADHD is a medical disorder that affects the several areas of the brain and give trouble to several parts of the brain.

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects about 5 million kids nationwide. Government is trying to support ADHD students with many organizations. There are many organizations, groups, and supporters that help ADHD families. One of the programs that support ADHD is CHADD of Northern Virginia. CHADD is a national non-profit organization providing education, advocacy and support for individuals with AD/HD. CHADD offers a Web site, publishes a variety of printed materials to keep members current on research advances, medications and treatments affecting individuals with AD/HD. These materials include the magazine Attention!, the children and adult hyperactivity disorder information and Resource Guide to AD/HD, latest news, a free mailed current events newsletter, as well as other publications of specific interest to educators, professionals and parents. Families, who are having a hard time because of ADHD, can find many support groups on online. They can share their concerns, ideas, and information.

Treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder isnt just about seeing doctors or taking medication. ADHD needs close attention with scrupulous care. Evidence shows that eating a healthy diet, getting plenty of exercise, and making other smart daily choices can help you or your child manage the symptoms of ADD or ADHD. According to the study, exercising is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce the symptoms of ADD/ADHD. Physical activity immediately boosts the brains hormones such as, dopamine and serotonin levelsall of which affect focus and attention. Exercise works well to the kids who have ADHD, but unlike ADD/ADHD medication, exercise doesnt require a prescription and its side effect is free. There are many other ways to cure and improve ADHD other than medication.

In conclusion, ADHD can be better by close attention. Many people think and have a stereo type that ADHD kids are disabilities, but that is not true. ADHD kids are little more active than others. They are normal and same as the others. There are many famous people such as, Albert Einstein, Wolfgang A. Mozart, Tom Cruise, and Steven Spielberg. Parents and teachers should encourage and treat kids with love. ADHD kids can be much better with parents cure. All in all, the best medication for ADHD is parents and teachers attention and love to the kids.
