The plural of nouns

- Most nouns form the plural by adding s or es. E.g.: boat- boats
- Nouns that end in -s -ss -sh -ch -x add -es. E.g.: bus- buses
- A noun ending in y preceded by a consonant makes the plural with ies.
E.g.: a cry cries
- But if the noun ends in a vowel + -y the -y does not change.
- Many nouns that end in -f, in the plural change the f to v and then add
-es.
- Some nouns have the same form in the singular and the plural.
Eg: sheep sheep
Fish fish
Species- species
Aircraft- aircraft
Deer deer

Billiards
