PHILOSOPHY

STRONGLY FEELS THAT POST INDEPENDENCE ARCHITECTURE IN INDIA WAS

TRIGGERED BY ARCHITECT LIKE LOUIS KAHN AND LE CORBUSIER WHO WERE
NOT ARCHITECTS AND THUS NOT REFER OVER TRADITIONAL VALUE
PREFER MORE OPEN SPACES AS MOST ACTIVITIES IN COUNTRY ARE
PERFORMED IN COURTYARDS , STREETS OR COMMON SPACES
VERY MUCH CONCERN TO ISSUE LIKE ECONOMY CLIMATE TRADITIONAL
ASPECT ETC
WORKING IN HOT AND DRY CLIMATE HE REALIZED THAT OPEN PLANNING
NOT ONLY ACHIEVES ECONOMY IN SPACES UTILIZATION ECONOMY IN
STRUCTURAL DESIGN, ECONOMY IN OVERALL BUILDING EXPENDITURE BUT A
MEANINGFULL SOLUTION TO BUILDING IN SUCH A CLIMATE
HE PREFERRED OPEN PLANNING
AN ARCHITECT POSSESSES A STRONG CONVECTION OF THEORY AND DESIGN

ATTITUDE TOWARDS ELEVATION :

USED OF MORE VALUE VAULTED OPENINGS AND ROOF
USED EXPOSED BRICK WALL, STONE WALL, GRID PANNEL FINNISH
UNPLASTERED CONCRETE WALL
USE OF RECESSES IN WINDOW, WHICH ARE USEFUL IN CLIMATES LIKE HOT AND DRY
ALL HEIGHTS OF BUILDINGS ARE DECIDED IN NO. OF BRICK COURSES FROM TOP TO
BOTTOM
