Weekly Spelling Options
Below is a list of possible spelling assignments to be completed for
your spelling homework. You will have spelling homework on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night. A test will be given every Friday. Your chosen spelling assignment is to be completed and turned in the next day. You are responsible for picking which assignment you want to do for the night. The assignment must be in the list below. It cannot be an assignment from a previous list. Once you have completed an assignment then cross it off the list for that week, you can only do an assignment once a week. Just to be clear, you do not have to do all of these assignments in one week, you only chose 4 of them. Happy studying! 1. _____Ransom Words- Make 10 words by cutting letters out of newspaper, magazines, or write them out on paper and cut them, then glue them together to build your words. 2. _____3 Way Words- Write your words three ways, print, cursive, and in a silly way! 3. _____Body Letters- Spell each of your words while making each letter with your body, make sure that an adult watches you and signs a note saying you did this options 4. _____Type the letters three times each in different fonts and e-mail them to Mrs. Donald at mdonald@olphna.org. 5. ____Write the words in alphabetical answer. 6. ____Write the words in order from shortest to longest and again from longest to shortest. 7. _______Choose 10 spelling words. Using the money chart on the back, add up the cost of each of your words. Number your paper and write the words and their values. Example: thing t (5) + h (10) + i (15) + n (5) + g (5) = 40 8. _____Write the spelling word in cursive. Then decide what part of speech the word is and write in next to the word. (Noun, verb, adjective, adverb) 1 Example: laugh-verb 9. ______Create a cartoon strip using at least 10 spelling words in the dialogue. 10._____ Use rice, salt, or shaving cream from home and put them on a table or counter. Write you spelling words in it. Have an adult write a note telling me you completed the assignment.
