Reported Speech: Questions and Commands

This resource book provides guidance on reporting speech, including reporting questions and commands. It explains that in reported speech, verbs move back one tense. For questions, we use "ask", "want to know" or "wondered" and change the question to an affirmative statement. Commands are reported using "told" or "asked" plus the object and an infinitive verb. Examples are given rewriting direct speech as reported speech, including questions, commands and changing verb tenses. Exercises provide practice rewriting questions and commands in reported speech.
