Modernity Project Work

Modernity is a term which describes the process of a historical period and evaluates it
within the social sciences and humanities. Methods of thinking and interpreting has changed
in different ways in different parts of the world and in time these terms existed with their
specific meanings in order to conceptualize a certain thought.
We are hereby examining the social relationships of people and their way of thinking
with different choices, this characterizes the main concept of individualism. Every person has
different aspects of view which follows a different way of thinking. Beside by evaluating
some results we are expecting to get a general idea of this process.
I have asked 19 person several questions and received different answers. These results
are collected in a chart below and interpreted by me.

When we consider the age factor our majority part is between the ages 15 and 35. This
conclusion leads us to an average age of 28 which is considerably young. Our gender type is
not a critical condition when we think about just the two of genders. Their current marital
status is also not affecting their judgements but some kind of information on our way.

also included in our study. This question arises from the curiosity of our research that we want
to know a general information who we are questioning. This education level also clarifies
some kind of answers and provide us information about the path they follow by their choices.

What we see here is our biggest part originate around the High School which is
actually how we interpret our assumptions considering this diagram. According to our data, it
consists of a large percent in this field and this field is also rounded by the ages of 45s. This
reduces to the idea that we are researching significantly high school graduated minds.

Most of the
participants answered this question by both. This means they dont mind much about the type
or tradition they are wearing but they seem to mix both in their characterized ways so they can
become separately individual persons. Cloth preference is a way to modernity of course but
this, in my opinion, depends on the free will so they can wear the thing they want.

How many times do you go to McDonalds in a week? was one of the questions I
asked. This was really some kind of habit that goes through parents to their children. The way
they shape their habits also shape their daily lives. Especially children are more tend to bend
as they want to find themselves some kind of path and in a search of different ideas. So
mostly I received from the children 3 or 4 times a week but also I received from the older
persons once a week or not at all. Looking to this data I can say that this also comes from the

environment they are in and they want to mirror the things they see. Fast food is one of our
daily life acts and it finds itself a way by encouraging people time saving for their lives, but in
fact we are shortening our lives more by eating these unhealthy foods and this causes health
problems in short spans.
A person or a human in my opinion always choses the easy and efficient way. So I
usually want to shop at. sentence mostly gets completed by malls or supermarkets where
there are the highest taxes and some kind of luxury presentation. This problem address to the
desire of human being by being the most intelligent creature on earth. Passion and envy is the
primary reasons and following comes superiority from the others. There is always hierarchy
and there will always be.
Another question was How many cars do you have in your family? and I was
shocked by some of the answers. Most of the families have one or none cars in their lives and
others have two or three. The distance between the poor and the rich has gone so far that it can
be hardly reversed. This difference causes misbehave and the main reason of the outbreaks in
the society. Especially in a metropolis every individual wants to go to work with their cars and
of course it causes a kind of chaos in traffic, raising the stress peak of people to a level where
they cant bear anymore this kind of stress and apply to unwanted ways. Increased psychology
is also another proof that we are actually eating ourselves from the inside.

This chart explains the best out of this research and there could be infinite ways to
interpret this kind of ratio. People who prefer hometowns may be in the lead but the first
answer of people to this question was to get away everything and relax in peace. This stressful
life of society increases day by day and I wouldnt think of such an explosion where it gets its
peak value. People are resisting this force by keeping themselves from this life but
particularly it is included their way of lives. Every morning they are suffering from traffic and
discussing with other people in order to release this stress a bit. Because they need some kind
of discharge situation and this causes these relations between people to corrupt. I was thinking
of a natural balance with this question and came to the conclusion that nature always wins. As
a final assessment life forms may change but there will be always nature. This also includes

the life form of humans. As far as I presume we dont deserve this planet more than any other
living and people should learn that everything is temporary except balance.

Evaluation of Results
Eventually considering the answers to my questions I would comment in a way to this
subject that modernity is a process more than a step in human life. This explains of our habits,
ways of thinking, communication, social relations shaping according to this way. Aesthetic
values are also developments in this process and can be explicated by social science. This
conceptualized research enlightens a modified thought by investigating the behavior of people
in front of theme questions and interprets this data according to my own aspect of view.
