Step-By-Step Procedures:
Activity #1
1- Students will get in groups of seven to play the game Crack an Egg.
2- Each students will get a worksheet with a drawing of 10 circles inside a triangular in the shape
of the bowling pins.
3- The front circle is labeled 1 and the following eggs are labeled consecutively through 10.
4- To start the game a students will roll the three dice at the same time to obtain three different
numbers and come up with equations that result in answers that are on the pins. With the purpose
of making a strike or a spare.
5-Students will have two opportunities each turn
6- Students will write down how many eggs they cracked.
7- At the end of the game students will count their total points.
Activity #2:
1- Each students will have a clean sheet of paper, pencil, and different toy figure.
2- Then everyone will start playing the game by putting their figures in the start line.
3- The first students then will roll the dice and whatever result they get they will move their
figure following the game.
4-In the square they land there will have a multiplication or division problem they will have to
resolve. They will be giving 5 mississippi to resolve. If they get it correct they will be able to
stay in that place if they do not get it correct they will have to move back from where they came.
5- The first one to reach the farm is the winner.
Activity #3:
1- Students will choose a computer
2- Students will go to the website: https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-3
3- Students will choose division fluency or multiplication fluency
4- Students will try to accurately respond to each question in the least amount of time possible.
Hook/Anticipatory Set: Earlier this week in language arts section we read a book about the
farm and now that we know our vocabulary we will implement it into math too.
1. Activity #1 Crack an Egg
2. Activity #2 Serpentes and Ladders
3. Activity #3 Fluency in Number Facts
Assessments: Activity #1: The teacher will assess the students through their ending scoring
worksheet and through walking around the room ensuring all students are practicing their
operations effectively
Activity #2: The teacher will make and informal assessment. While the students are playing the
teacher will be assessing the students if they get their correct answers of the problems.
Activity #3: The teacher will ensure that the students complete and the questions and will assess
them with the time.
Possible Connections to Other Subjects (Please elaborate):Students will be practicing
Language Arts vocabulary through the hands on activities. Students will be able to have a
knowledge of what animals live in a farm.
Blooms Taxonomy (Identify each level that will be covered in your learning activities):
Activity #1: Remembering, Understanding, Applying, and Analysing- students will use what they
already know to hit down as many hens as possible with their three given numbers from the dice.
Students will show understanding through the operations and will be able to combine different
operations to acquire desired numbers.
Activity #2: Applying- students will have to use what they know about multiplication and
division.
Activity #3: Remembering, understanding, and applying.
