Joined women dev prog run by Rajasthan In 1992 fought against child marriage She and her husband working in field, 5 men attacked the husband and left him unconscious. When she came to help her husband 2 raped her while 3 pinned him down to ground.

She has to cover her body with husbands blood stained SAFA (turban) and walk 3 km 1 AM in the morning to the nearest village Rapists wanted to pay a settlement to Bhanwari in 1994 but she refused. Her family broke ties with her.
