Reflection: The students have started a new topic where they are all about
comparing numbers. They were introduced to this in the previous topic, but the
vocabulary has developed from more and less to greater and less. The students
have identified the greater numbers with our friend Greater Gator in the previous
lesson, and are now ready to shake off the less numbers. For the most part the
students have really grasped the concept well. Their number sense grows every
day, and I am finding that I have to challenge them more and more and more.

Contextual Factors/Learner Characteristics:
The Kindergarten classroom contains 18 students of age ranging from 5-7. The
students are seated in 6 small rows with 3 in each row. All but one student is white;
the one other female student is Hispanic and also an ELL. There are three students
on IEPs. Two of those students were put on IEPs for speech. The other IEP student
has delays and struggles in many areas. She will almost always need extra
assistance if at all possible.
