INTRODUCTION TO HUMANITIES

Course Description:
This course introduces the various human expressions found in the visual arts, music, literature, and the
performing arts. Each category is analyzed so that the students would see the interrelatedness of these various
disciplines. It relates the general development of artistic movements in Europe and the United States to the
movements here in the Philippines, as well as, in other parts of Asia. More importantly, the fundamental values that
have been cherished by these past eras are also discussed to foster a deeper understanding of the roots of the
Humanities in peoples interaction with their world.
Program Objectives
To equip students with general knowledge in areas of the arts` and sciences.
To train students to be proactively responsive to the changing needs of real life situation.
To prepare students for academic study in their respective fields.
To develop in them an awareness of the significance of research and community service.
To instill in them the values of faith in God and love of country.
