Things to try each day:

1. Sit or stand straight but comfortably
2. Take a slow, deep breath
3. Play on mouthpiece first - a buzz
4. Aim for a steady sound
5. Try to hold for 4 or more counts
6. Look in mirror and at the picture
7. Try all three notes check fingering
with the diagrams
8. When youre confident try changing
between notes

2. Try to hold for 8 or more counts

Tips for Trumpet

1. for high notes you need: faster air, firmer corners think of cold
air
2. for low notes you need: slower air, jaw open wide think of
warmer air
3. Practice buzzing middle, low and high pitches every day, and
siren noises
4. Make up tunes on the mouthpiece
5. Try to play long notes 8 or more counts
6. Take deep breaths without moving your shoulders
7. Play tunes along with the CD backings
8. Make up your own tunes
9. Give a performance to your family
10. Listen to some expert trumpet players
11. Go to a concert
12. Buy a trumpet CD
13. Look up learning the trumpet on the internet
14. Look after your trumpet and keep it in a safe place!
