Amended Foreign Trade Policy of India (2004-2009)

Objective:
The primary objective of the programme is to enhance the impact of budgetary facilities by
strengthening the existing Export Promotion Schemes and facilitating upgradation of technology and increased
world class quality production for providing thrust to the external sector of the economy; expose the
participants to the budgetary provisions and the Foreign Trade Policy amendments,

Content:

• New Developments in the wake of Budgetary provisions and


• The Salient Features of the Amended Foreign Trade Policy;
• Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme; Duty Exemption and Remission Scheme;
• Scheme for Status Holders; EOU/STP/EHTP/BTP Schemes; Special Economic Zones Scheme
• Policy provisions for import of machinery and production inputs for stock and sale and
• Radical improvements effected in the amended Policy.

Participants:

Business executives in trade and industry, trade facilitation and service agencies, financial institutions, freight
forwarders and MTOs, shipping agents, export promotion agencies, Central and State Govt. Departments,
Chambers of Commerce, etc.

Faculty:

The programme will be conducted by IIFT Faculty. A few specialists from Government Departments and trade
and industry will be associated as Guest Faculty.

Fee:
The fee for the Programme is Rs. 2500/- per participant. This is a non-residential programme, hence
the stated fee covers only the tuition, reading material, stationery, lunch and refreshments during the actual dates
of the Programme.
