irregular way of advertising the soap but since Coronation Street is already quite a well established soap, a
lot of people already know when the soap is on and what channel. It is likely that this poster is to attract
people to the soap who are already aware of it, but just haven’t watched it before.

The characters used in the poster show that the soap is designed for a range of audiences, due to the range of
ages and genders in the image.

I will use this analysis when it comes to creating the poster for our group’s soap as it contains some of the
regular conventions of soap posters, such as the soap’s logo and the characters. By ensuring I follow the
regular conventions of a soap poster, I will have a better chance of attracting my target audience for my soap
opera.
