Digital Signal Processing Lab 3: Properties of Fourier Transform Using Matlab

The document discusses properties of the Fourier transform using MATLAB including: 1) Linearity, where the Fourier transform of a sum of signals is equal to the sum of the individual Fourier transforms. 2) Time scaling, where scaling the time domain by a constant requires scaling the frequency domain by the same constant and dividing by the absolute value of the constant. 3) Time shifting, where shifting the time function by a constant does not change the Fourier transform magnitude but adds a term to the phase angle.

that is, the time shifting property of the Fourier transform states that if we shift the time function
by a constant , the Fourier transform magnitude does not change, but the term is added to
its phase angle.
