CBSE invites applications for Ê 



   Ê
 for selection of candidates into Engineering Undergraduate programs conducted by
Institutes throughout India.

O     Ê

Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e.

1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal
weightage with objective type questions for B.E/B.Tech courses and

2nd paper consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for B. Architecture and B.
Planning. The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate's perception, imagination,
observation, creativity and architectural awareness. 

Subject combination for each paper and type of questions in each paper are given in the
table below

Candidates applying for B.Tech needs to appear for PAPER 1 and Candidates applying for
B.ARCH/B. PLANNING needs to appear for PAPER 2.

AIEEE pen and paper (offline examination) will be conducted on the following dates as per
schedule given below:
24.04.2011- Paper ± 1 - 0930-1230 Hours
24.04.2011- Paper ± 2 - 1400-1700 Hours

The online AIEEE 2011 examination would be conducted for a maximum 1.0 lac candidates
in BE/B.Tech only and remaining candidates will appear in Pen & paper mode (off-line) as
conducted earlier. The candidates wishing to appear in online examination will apply online
only through the AIEEE website and the fee is required to be paid by credit/debit card only.
All informations and instructions for submitting of application for appearing in online
examination are available on CBSE website www.aicee.nic.in

The online examination would be conducted in the cities mentioned below. The pattern of
question paper & time duration of online examination and offline examination would remain
the same and the candidates will be informed by various modes about their center,date &
time of online examination. Online examination will be conducted for a maximum capacity of
5000 candidates in a city on first-come-first-serve basis. The candidates may opt another
city if the seats in a particular city are full. Though, the candidates have been asked to
submit their choices of examination cities but the Board has right to change the center. The
examination fee for the candidates who intend to appear in online examination is as under.
General/OBC Rs 400 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable
SC/ST Rs 200 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable

The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2011 is that the candidate must
have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the
qualifying examination with 50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for
SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidates. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent
examination may also appear in AIEEE 2011 provisionally.

Candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) in 2012 or passed in 2008 or before are not
eligible to appear in AIEEE 2011.

Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech.


and B. Arch./B. Planning Courses shall be as under


Compulsory Subjects: Physics & Mathematics
Optional Subjects: Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology

Compulsory Subjects: Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate at 10 + 2 level
No. of Attempts in Qulaifying Examination

The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture
Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03 (three) uniformly for all the candidates in
consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 exam in 2009, 2010 or appearing in +2 in
2011 are only eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011. Candidates passed +2 in 2008 or before or
appearing in 2012 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011.

i) The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized


Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary
Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized
Board/University.
iii) Final Examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National
Defence Academy.
iv) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries
recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
v) H.S.C. Vocational Examination.
vi) A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National
Open School with a minimum of fivesubjects.
vii) 3 or 4-year diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.


 

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible.
However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically
Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH
candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible. Date of birth as
recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ University certificate only will be taken as
authentic.

Application can either be made 'Online' or submitted on prescribed Application Form only.

Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post from the
Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional
Area, I P Extension, Patparganj, Delhi - 110092 or personally from Regional Offices of CBSE
and Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank/other Banks/Designated Institutions (List given
in Appendix IV). The Syndicate Bank/other Banks, the designated institutions and Regional
Offices of the CBSE will not send the Information Bulletin by Post. Hence, no request should
be made to them for sending the Bulletin by Post. Candidate should not buy the Information
Bulletin from any private publisher/ vendor as these may be fake Information Bulletins.

The Regional Offices of CBSE, designated branches of Syndicate Banks/Other


Banks/designated Institutions (visit http://aieee.nic.in for the list) are not responsible for
any consequences, that may arise due to non-availability of forms in case the copies of
application forms are sold out before the last date. The candidate should get the
Information Bulletin containing application forms from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE),
CBSE, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 by post.

The cost of Information Bulletin inclusive of examination and counselling fee for BE/B.Tech
only or B.Arch/B.Planning only is as under:

To obtain Information Bulletin containing Application Form by post, candidates should send
their request to the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS
1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110092 along with a bank draft of
Rs.650/- for General and OBC Category and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST candidates in favour of The
Secretary, CBSE, payable at Delhi/New Delhi and a self-addressed envelope of 12" x 10".
This includes Rs. 50/- towards postal charges. Candidates appearing for both BE/B.Tech and
B.Arch/ B.Planning together should send their application form along with additional fee in
the form of Demand Draft of Rs. 400/- for General & OBC and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST
candidates in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi/ New Delhi. Demand draft payable
other than Delhi/New Delhi will not be accepted and their candidature will be rejected.

The online submission of particulars may be made at website www.aieee.nic.in. The


candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form. On
submission of details, a Confirmation page with Registration No. shall be generated.
Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation page and paste photographs, put
left hand thumb impression, sign in the space earmarked for the purpose and write down
the Residential Address. The confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to
CBSE and payment can be made as follows:
(a) by credit card, or Demand draft from any scheduled commercial bank.

(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age
on or before 31 * December of the year of his/her admission to the 1" yearM.B.B.S./B.D.S.
course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25
years as on 31* December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that
upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled
Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

(iii) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/
Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks
taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio- technology at the qualifying
examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or
Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-
technology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General
Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disabilityof lower limbs, the minimum of
45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ ST-PH/OBC-PH are required.

15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy
layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for
Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for MBBS/BDS
courses.

Online submission of application maybe made by accessing the Board's website
www.aipmt.nic.in from 15.11.2010 (10.00 A.M.) to 31.12.2010 (5.00 P.M.). Instructions for
sending online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout are available
on website. Candidates submitting on-line application have been given exemption of Rs.
100/- in the examination fee irrespective of their category.

Accordingly, fee of Rs. 700/- for General/OBC Category Candidates and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST
Category Candidates may be remitted in the following ways:
1. By Credit Card, or
2. Through Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education,
Delhi drawn on any Nationalized Bank payable at Delhi.

Offline submission of Application may be made on the prescribed Application Form. The
Information Bulletin and Application Form costing Rs.800/- for General/OBC Category and
Rs.450/- for SC/ST category can be obtained against Cash Payment from the designated
branches of Canara Bank/Regional Offices of the CBSE between 13.12.2010 to 31.12.2010.

Information Bulletin and Application Form can also be obtained by Post from the Board by
sending a written request with a Demand Draft for Rs.850/- for General/OBC Category and
Rs.500/- for SC/ST Category payable to trie Secretary, Central Board of Secondary
Education, Delhi along with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12" x 10". The request must
reach to the Board on or before 24.12.2010. The request should be superscribed as

ÊOÊScheme for the Academic Year 2011-12 to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering
in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), IIITs and other premier Technical Institutions in
India

This advance information is provided to enable potential candidates to plan and prepare
themselves to meet the requirements for DASA admissions. DASA 2011-12 will be officially
launched on 1st April 2011.

The process of application submission will remain online (web based) as was done for DASA
2010. Similarly, the fee payment and document submission will also be an online (web
based) process.

Candidates who are born on or after 1st Oct 1986 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in
the secondary education board/university certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any
certificate issued by government authorities only will be taken as authentic.

Candidates must be Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) studying in any
country (including India) / Indian Nationals studying abroad. In case of Indian Nationals
studying abroad they must have had at least 3 (three) years of education in Foreign
country/countries during the last 6 (six) years and must pass the qualifying examination
(inclusive of 11th and 12th standard or equivalent) from abroad only.

The academic eligibility consists of two major components namely qualifying examination
and SAT Subject Tests as given below:

All Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination, i.e. Senior Secondary [10+2]
or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any one of the
following as optional subjects viz. Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology. In
addition candidates must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.75
CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent grades in the qualifying examination.

All candidates must have a minimum total of 1800* SAT Subject Tests (known as SAT II)
scores (Maths level II, Physics and Chemistry) for eligibility for admission under this
scheme. For more details on SAT Subject Tests please visit http://www.collegeboard.com/

a. Candidates are required to submit SAT Subject Test scores directly to NITK, Surathkal
through the College Board. To do so, candidates who are registering for SAT Subject Tests
now must mention designated institute code of NITK Surathkal and request College Board to
send scores directly to NITK Surathkal. Note that the designated institute code allocated by
College Board for NITK Surathkal is 6530.

b. Candidates who have already taken SAT Subject Tests and would like to use the scores
already obtained, are informed to request College Board to send the scores directly to NITK
Surathkal at the designated institute code 6530. Candidates may note that they may have
to formally request and pay additional charges to College Board for this service.

1. Registration Fee (Non-Refundable) along with the application, is USD 250. For candidates
from SAARC countries, it is USD 400.

3. In addition to tuition fee, other fees like developmental charges, hostel fee etc., may
have to be paid at the time of admission, as per the norms of respective institutes where
the candidate has been allotted a seat.

Merit list would be prepared solely based on SAT Subject Test scores communicated by the
College Board against each applicant¶s candidature. Multiple attempts for SAT Subject Tests
are permitted. Best of submitted scores (in individual subjects) would be considered for the
merit list preparation.

As of now, 32 institutes have confirmed their participation in DASA 2011-12. It is expected
that the total number of seats in undergraduate programmes (including all engineering
disciplines/courses) on offer would be about 2000. This list will be updated as and when
some new institutions confirm their participation in this scheme. However, the actual seat
matrix would be uploaded on the web site on April 01, 2011 during the formal launch of the
admission process.

Please refer to College Board web site (http://www.collegeboard.com/) and note the
available options for SAT Subject Tests. It is recommended that candidates take SAT
Subject Tests at appropriate time, such that SAT Subject Test scores reach NITK, Surathkal
