COAHSI Folklife is honored to highlight Staten Islandʼs greatest resource - its rich diversity and heritage – through a
new project which will tour New York Public Libraries across the borough. “The Culture of Joy & Resilience: Reframing
Cultural Conversations on Staten Island” brings a series of four exhibit panels, each profiling a community-based folk
art expression, to rotate among several neighborhood library branches. Public performances and demonstrations of
these vibrant traditions will enhance the exhibits throughout the year. Supported by the National Endowment for the
Arts, this project promotes the cultural contributions of underrepresented communities, and stimulates traditional arts
on Staten Island.

This project is supported in part by an award

from the National Endowment for the Arts. www.StatenIslandArts.org/folkblog Fully Accessible to Persons Using Wheelchairs
