• Planned a lesson and taught primary school students in Ghana about the importance of hand washing and germ
transmission. Taught an entire school of 200 students and washed every students’ hands.
• Observed in three hospitals in three cities in Ghana, watched how nurses work and are trained and noted
differences between Ghana and the US.
• Volunteered in an orphanage helping children with schoolwork and donated supplies to help with school cost.
• Presented research and details about the trip, about Ghanaian culture, health care and education in a symposium
to hundreds of students and faculty.
