Stitch guide

Beret Band
Using the smaller needle size cast on 64 (72, 80) stitches being carefully not to twist the stitches, join for working in the round. *p1, k2, p2, k2, p1* repeat from * until end of round. Work this ribbing for 6 rows. Increasing row: *p1, m1p, k1, m1k, k1, m1k, k1,m1k* repeat from * until end of round 128 (144, 160) stitches

Beret Lace Section


Change to larger needle size and set chart A 16 (18, 20) times in the round. Work Chart A 2 (2,5; 3) times.

Shape Brim
Work chart B (C, B) one time. Round 1: Slip last stitch from previous round to left needle. *p2tog, k3* repeat from * until end of round Round 2: *p1, k3* repeat from * until end of round Round 3: *k2tog, k2* repeat from * until end of round Round 4: knit Round 5: *k2tog, k1* repeat from * until end of round Round 6: knit Round 7: k2tog until end of round -16 (18, 20) stitches Round 8: knit Round 9: k2tog until end of round 8 (9, 10) stitches Round 10: k2tog until end of round (k2tog until last stitch, k1; k2tog until end of round) 4 (5, 6) stitches Round 11: k2tog, k2 (k2tog, k2tog, k1; k2tog until end of row) 3 stitches Work I-cord for 1inch (2,5cm). Cut yarn leaving a tail. Thread tail through remaining stitches, starting at opposite end to where the yarn is attached and pull tight to close. Weave tail through the I-cord and secure to wrong side of beret.

Finishing
Weave in all loose ends. Block beret over a plate with desired diameter.
