Objective To obtain a summer internship that will enable me to make a difference as well as progress as a young professional by learning as much as possible in a professional setting. Career Focus My focus is in building a career that will allow me to utilize my skills and experience in communications and marketing. I seek to work with people to accomplish meeting objectives. Those objectives can be based on a broad range of missions, but ultimately, to better the organization. I believe in using the skills, competence, and knowledge that I possess to provide positive input and a tangible contribution to my work and the work of others. It is my goal to be a versatile, dynamic, and competent employee. I have the necessary attributes to bring positivity, personality, and resourcefulness to any situation. My ideal work environment is one where I can work as a team member, with individual accountability. I have a competitive drive that lends to an environment of achievement. Accomplishments -Created and operated an 800+ person Facebook group to connect out of state students staying in Tempe over the summer. -For philanthropy, I designed and built (with a team) a large, functional skate ramp that is well known and used daily by many El Paso citizens. -Was elected as the social chair for my fraternity, Sigma Pi-Beta Kappa. -Captain of my Independent Men's League intramural football team four years in a row. Professional Experience Event Planner Rhogue LLC Tempe, Arizona October 2010 and 2011 Responsibilities: I helped plan Midnight Masquerade two years in row (2010 and 2011). Midnight Masquerade is a Halloween party in Phoenix, AZ thrown primarily for college students. I took care of a wide variety of tasks such as budgeting, promoting and marketing, hiring, planning transportation and security, and making sure we were free of liability. These events have had huge turnouts both years in a row and have been very successful. Sales Team Leader AZ Laundry LLC Tucson, Arizona Summer 2008 and 2009 Responsibilities: These two summers, I attended all freshman orientations to sell semester long plans to parents and students for a laundry and dry-cleaning delivery service that catered to U of A students. I assisted the owners
of AZLaundry implement marketing strategies for these orientations such as discounts given to clients who signed up at the orientations rather than waiting until August. I was given a budget and I sought out and purchased sales and marketing materials such as T-shirts, flyers, and bottled waters to use at these orientations. I signed up over 150 clients in my first summer, and due to this success, the owners asked me to work again for the second summer when I signed up over 250 clients. I definitely helped this start-up laundry and dry cleaning delivery company become successful.
