OUTSTANDING IELTS TEST RESULTS
LSBF is the only school in London that oers invaluable opportunities to those who wish to boost their
condence in specic skills by oering dierent levels of IELTS and IELTS Elective classes. Alternatively, our
Postgraduate Preparation Programme oers students with IELTS 5.5 the option of taking an intensive Academic
English class as the rst module of their University of Wales and University of Bradford Masters programmes.

LSBF SCHOOL OF ENGLISH FACTS
Fees include: All tuition, reports, certicates, student card, welcome pack, use of the library, student lounge, internet services &
Wi-Fi facilities and some social events.
Not included: Textbooks, examination fees, full-day excursions and paid social events.
Student book rental: Students are able to rent course books from the school. Students pay a deposit of 25, refundable upon
return of book in excellent condition (minus a 10 Rental Fee). Students can choose to keep the books but will forfeit their deposit.
A Registration fee of 40.00 is payable which covers full placement testing.
Start on any Monday (Tuesday when Monday is a public holiday) on most courses except where specied.
Minimum age: 18
One academic hour = 60 minutes
Maximum Number of students per class: 16 (unless otherwise stated)
HOLIDAY POLICY
The holiday allowances are as follows:
If you are studying between 1 and 6 weeks, you are allowed 0 weeks holiday
If you are studying between 7 and 12 weeks, you are allowed a total of 1 weeks holiday
If you are studying between 13 and 24 weeks, you are allowed a total of 2 weeks holiday
If you are studying between 25 and 36 weeks, you are allowed a total of 3 weeks holiday
If you are studying between 37 and 52 weeks, you are allowed a total of 4 weeks holiday
UK HOLIDAYS /
2012: April 6th/ April 9th / May 7th / June 4th / June 5th / August 27th
The school will be closed from Monday 24th December 2012 to Friday 28th December 2012

STANDARD COURSES
GENERAL ENGLISH
Our General English courses are designed for students who wish to improve their ability to communicate eectively in real-life,
everyday situations in English.
Levels available: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate & Advanced.
IELTS EXAM PREPARATION
IELTS is one of the worlds most recognized English prociency examinations, and is required by most universities in the UK for
admission into their programmes. Prices do not include IELTS test fee (approx. 110).
Levels available: Intermediate, Upper Intermediate & Advanced.
Students must have a minimum of B1 Higher (CEF) or IELTS 4.5 to start. If their level is below this, they will need to attend a General
English class before they can progress.
ACADEMIC ENGLISH
Designed to train students in the skills required for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
Levels available: Intermediate & Advanced
Students must have a minimum of B2 (CEF) or IELTS 4.5 to start. If their level is below this, they will need to attend a General English
class before they can progress
BUSINESS ENGLISH
Our Business English courses are designed for students who wish to develop their language skills in an international business
context.
Levels available: Intermediate, Upper Intermediate & Advanced.
Students must have a minimum of B2 (CEF) or IELTS 4.5 to start. If their level is below this, they will need to attend a General English
class before they can progress.
CONVERSATION CLASSES
The conversation classes are one academic hour classes that complement any of the above courses, apart from Business English.
Levels available: Elementary, Pre-Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate & Advanced.

EVENING COURSES
We oer two exciting evening programmes for students in need of vital exam preparation skills.
ACADEMIC WRITING COURSE
8 week course (32 hours)
4 hours per week on Monday and Wednesday evenings (2011) / 4 hours per week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (2012)
IELTS PREPARATION EVENING CLASS
8 week (48 hours) or 16 week (96 hours) course
6 hours per week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (2011) / 6 hours per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
(2012)

Start dates for both courses:
2012: 3rd January / 6th March / 8th May / 3rd July / 4th September/ 30th October

SPECIALIST COURSES
ONETOONE CLASSES
These courses are a unique opportunity to practise English on a one-to-one basis in a comfortable and uninterrupted environment.
POSTGRADUATE PREPARATION PROGRAMMES PGPP
This intensive academic programme acts as the rst module of the University of Wales and the University of Bradford Masters
programme. It focuses on study skills, written and oral presentation skills and critical thinking in an international business and nance
context. Students can begin this:
12-weeks = IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
24-weeks = IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
36-weeks = IELTS 5.0 or equivalent
48-weeks = IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
2012 start dates: 3rd January / 26th March / 25th June / 24th September
No requirement to achieve an external examination, such as IELTs at the end of the course, unless for Tier 4 visa requirements.
Maximum class size: 20 (for the nal 12 week module)
FINANCIAL ENGLISH / START YOUR ACCA ANYTIME
This course introduces students to Financial English and the skills required to take the International Certicate in Financial English,
developed by Cambridge University & ACCA for accountants and nance professionals. It is ideal for students who intend to study
for ACCA or CIMA.
B1 (CEF) Higher required to start:
Start any Monday, 1 week to 12 weeks.
ACCA/CIMA students will need to take a minimum of 4 weeks.
Students planning to progress onto ACCA or CIMA with LSBF must take ICFE examination and submit certicate to admissions de-
partment. ICFE exam costs 115 (approx.).

BASIC PAYMENT TERMS
No installment plans are available to English School students. Payments must be made in full.
No CAS letters will be issued to students on English School courses unless they have paid their fees in full.
For English School students who do not need CAS letters, payments should be made in full no later than 2 weeks prior to the
start of the course.

LSBF LIFE: ACCOMMODATION AND AIRPORT TRANSFER SERVICE
LSBF Life is a dedicated accommodation and airport transfer service for all our students at LSBF. We oer a range of
accommodation options to suit every individuals needs, and we make all the arrangements on behalf of the student.
WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING OPTIONS:
Homestay: Our homestay accommodation option gives students the opportunity of living in a friendly private London home. It
provides students with an excellent opportunity to practise their English skills outside the classroom and learn about English life and
culture. Bed and Breakfast and Half board options are also available.
Halls of Residence: Students may wish to stay in a university residence close to LSBF, where they will have their own room and
shared facilities with other university students, to experience real college life in the city.
Hotels/Hostels: LSBF Life oers a wide choice of independent accommodation, from reasonably priced, comfortable central
London hostels to superior luxury hotels.
Flat Shares: Staying in a at-share gives students the freedom of having their own room while enjoying the social benets of living
in a house with other international students. Self-catering kitchens and bathrooms are shared but rooms have private facilities with
en-suite options.
Studio Apartments: Studios are suitable for individuals or couples that want a little more independence, and are available in zones
1 to 4. These are often chosen by longer term students.
