Course Description:
Furthers the study of fractions and mixed numbers. Also included are vocabulary, operations and applications of ratio, proportion, percent, area, perimeter, US and metric measures, integers, and an introduction to algebraic expressions and the solution of basic first-degree equations.

IDEA Objectives
Colorado Mountain College evaluates classes based upon Individual Development and Educational Assessment (IDEA) objectives. The following are the IDEA objectives chosen for this class: 1. Gaining factual knowledge (terminology, classifications, methods, trends). 2. Learning fundamental principles, generalizations, or theories. 3. Evaluation Methods and Class Management: Students will prepare and present an individual Student-Learning Facilitator contract by the end of the second class. Students will prepare and present an individual Learning Log and the end of each class session and/or submit a Homework Submission Sheet. A more specific grading matrix will be established by the class during its first session. A percentage breakdown will be developed for attendance, homework, quizzes, and tests.

uring the first class session, students will be introduced to Canvas, CMCs new Learning Management System at http://cmclearners.edu20.org. The pre-established login will be your student ID and your password will be cmc _ _ _ _ _ _ (the last six (6) digits of your Social Security Number. Students will be able to check assignments, grades, class notes, etc. NOTICE: A student judged to have engaged in academic misconduct as defined in the Academic Policies and Requirements section of the Colorado Mountain College Student Handbook will, at a minimum, receive a zero for the work in question. The student may also be removed from the class, resulting in a failing grade.
