Dear Aspirant, Civil Services in its multipronged structural profile encompassing almost all the conceivable subjects of administration afford great opportunity to its members to serve our society. Only few professions confer such power as well as opportunity to make decisive intervention in lives of people in general. The Indian Civil Service serves as the backbone of India and carries great respect and responsibility in the society. A majority of youngsters and their parents still crave for entry into the prestigious Indian Civil Services held by U.P.S.C.; it shows that IAS is still the dream job for many. The training at the centre at MSU makes you more confident so that you give your best performance in the National and State level Civil Services Examination. We look forward to helping future generation of students fulfill their potential and will be watching their progress with interest in serving society. Be confident and do hard work then surely success will be yours. Always remember, winners achieve despite problems and do not blame the circumstances. Wishing you best of luck and pray for your success in the examination. Professor Yogesh Singh Vice Chancellor, The Mahraja Sayajirao University of Baroda
Dear IAS Aspirant, Civil Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year to recruit candidates for Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and several other Group A Services of Government of India. Every year more than 3 lakh students from all over the country appear in this examination aspiring to make it to the final list, which varies every year between 500 to 800 vacancies. Looking into numerical probability of getting selected, this is one of the most difficult examinations in the whole world. And therefore, Civil Services Examinations calls for detailed process of meticulous planning, diligent preparation and impeccable performance. Every candidate should realize that he or she is aspiring for the most sought-after Services in the country, and hence he or she should be willing and capable of brining out the best in him or her. I am happy that the knowledge capital of Gujarat has benefitted from the initiative taken by the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda through its All India & Central Services Training Centre. I earnestly wish that students of Vadodara and entire State of Gujarat will get benefit from this Centre and come out successful in what is often hailed as the mother of all examinations in the country. With best wishes Shri. Vinod R. Rao (IAS) Collector & District Magistrate Vadodara
I welcomes all IAS aspirants to join A.I.C.S. Training Centre. The centre cultivates aspirants attitude, overall knowhow and provides subject knowledge. Aspirants need to realise that clearing Civil Services Examination is a lengthy process during your prime time. Key points on How to win a seat in Indian Civil Services are as follows: (i) Read U.P.S.C. Syllabus in detail where each word is important. Look for previous questions regarding each word as they form your reference guide. (ii) Select Optional Subject in which you have efficiency, interest, enough material, guidance, and should be able to read the subject for 6-7 hours every day. (iii) Key to Success is to have regular interaction with 3 to 4 Senior / Past Students, Make a Study Group of 4 to 5 students with matching wavelength, and have regular discussions within & across the group. (iv) Making notes, writing essays and attempting regular assessments prepares your mental temperament for examination. The centre helps you to evaluate your short comings, administer them & guide you towards self corrections.Your strong desire and smart work enables you to win a seat in the Indian Civil Services. Best wishes Professor Dhananjay A. Sant Director, AICS Training Centre
All India & Central Services Training Centre All India & Central Services Training Centre is a MSU - GOG initiative established on 1st April 1977 with a vision to facilitate opportunity for GUJARAT STUDENTS to become part of Country's administration. The track record of The A.I.C.S. Training Centre over past three decades shows 34 students joining for Civil services:1978-1990 (8 students), 1991-2000 (19 students) and 2001-2010 (7 students). The Centre admitted about 1386 students, of which 54% appeared for Prelims, 38% could pass Prelims . The cohesive, informal environment at the centre boosts aspirant's motivation.
The All India & Civil Services Training Centre is an institution that provides an opportunity to the brightest among the students of the University to prepare themselves for joining the coveted Civil services. However, the purpose of the Centre has not been only to produce successful candidates for the competitive Civil Services Examinations. The Centre gives something of value to those who do not get into the Civil Services just as to those who get into them. There have been numerous young students during my years as the Director of the Centre who did not join the Civil Services, but have led the society in several avenues. Some have become excellent judges, others have been leading media persons, business executives, scholars, and even community workers. But they all look upon those years of training at the A.I.C.S. as of foundational value. In that sense, there are no losers among the students who join the A.I.C.S. Training Centre. It can give the students to the best of their own capacity to take. But, it certainly gives a new high to the quality of life of every student who joins it. Professor G. N. Devy Director, A.I.C.S Training Centre (1981-89) Founder Trustee, Bhasha Research Centre
Dear Civil Services Aspirants, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Vadodara's A.I.C.S. Training Centre is like BodhiVriksh for me. I came there as novice and came out as serious civil service candidate. The A.I.C.S.Training Centre supported me in many ways. It helped me by providing Important study material, guidance etc., etc.., but this was not important for me because I could have got it from any other institute. The most important things it gave me were self-belief, that I Can do it" , friend-circle of life-time, emotional support and methods to deal with U.P.S.C.'s Examination System. The students of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda are very lucky that they have got such an outstanding facility available on there own campus to fulfil their dream of becoming Civil Servants. Wishing best luck to all who are associated with the A.I.C.S.Training Centre. Shri. Rayka Mihir G. IRS, Govt. Of India.
