The course consists of 5-days intensive training program that covers four areas of employability skills, namely: 1. Communication and interpersonal skills 2. Teamwork skills 3. Self-Management skills 4. Career Development skill The objective of this program is to focus on the key basic competencies that will equip the participants with the skills, knowledge and self-confidence that they need to secure themselves a job. We believe that the training program will give them the required techniques that will allow them to have a better opportunity to succeed in job search and its associated screening/selection process. The Basic Employability Training Program is being designed to focus on some very specific skill elements summarize in below table:

Employability Skill Sets 1. Communication and interpersonal skills 2. Teamwork skills

Key Learning Focus Learn how to communicate effectively and with confidence. Develop verbal skill, including both listening and questioning skills. Develop an awareness of different roles and responsibilities within a team structure. Learn to listen, respect others, contribute and co-operate. Gain an understanding of the interdependence of individuals within a team and how they can take their place in this structure.

Understand the responsibility of starting work. Develop a readiness to take part and contribute to a workplace. Develop openness to new ideas and making things happen. Develop reflective capabilities - how to accept feedback and use it constructively to improve performance. Finding career direction through self-discovery. Maximize job search. Develop an effective resume. How to attend and be success in interviewing.

The Basic Employability Skill Training will be delivered as per following:

Day 1 Module 1: Crafting Your Career (7 Contact Hours)


Topic Self-assessment Developing a Personal Career Plan Description To assist participants to know and understand their personality types, potentials, abilities and interests for career planning. To assist participants in exploring their career and occupational preferences through developing individual Personal Career Plan. Help making sure the career path reflects ones goals and aspirations. To discuss what employers want in their employees.

Employers & What They Seek

Day 2 Module 2: Me & What I Can Offer (7 Contact Hours)


Topic Developing a Personal Brand Description To develop a personal pitch that participants can use to confidently introduce themselves to networking contacts and prospective employers. Learn how to show potential employers that one have what the employer wants. To focus on job search strategies that increase job opportunities.

Job Hunting Technique

Day 3 Module 3: Making The Most Of Your Resume (7 Contact Hours)


Topic Preparing Effective Resume Preparing Cover Letter Description To develop a resume that will persuade potential employers to bring participants in for a closer look (i.e. for interviewing). Looking at the structure, content, different types and ways of preparing resume that focuses on employers' needs. To learn how to write a successful cover letter.

Day 4 Module 4: Successful Interviewing (7 Contact Hours)


Topic Interview Preparation & Practice Description To help participants preparing for interview with confidence, give advices on how to approach a range of interview questions and provide an opportunity to obtain some interview practice.

Day 5 Module 5: Ready, Set, Go (7 Contact Hours)


Topic Negotiating Job Offers And Salary The First Day At Work Description To provide a framework to better evaluate ones options, including strategies for discussing salary. Address proper protocol for accepting and rejecting job offers. To develop an awareness of the ethical and confidentiality issues in the workplace. To gain a better understanding on how workplace diversity affects communication.
