On Sunday September 23, about 20 neighbors helped celebrate the opening of the new Honey Bee Garden, a space planned and planted by kids from our neighborhood. Stop by sometime to see all the plants that attract honey bees and other pollinators, and sit on one of the two benches built by the young people. Funding for this project was provided by the Prevention Network in partnership with the Skillman Foundations Good Neighbors Project. The garden is located on a formerly vacant lot, opposite 14910 Lamphere, between Chalfonte and Eaton.

Brightmoor Teen-Room!
by Katharina Walsh
A group of enthusiastic teenagers has been busy setting up and planning a weekly Teen Night with our partner, the West Outer Drive United Methodist Church, located at Outer Drive and Acacia. Pastor Sampson has given us permission to use one of the rooms in the church basement, and we have already painted a mural and started redecorating. This is just the beginning and we are looking for more interested teenagers to join us in creating a unique program of events and activities for youth in our neighborhood. We are also looking for donations of games (foosball, Twister, etc.). For more information call Miss Kat at 313-918-9160.
