Design Process: First, I read the clients briefing. I noted what they were doing, the fact that they wanted to focus on children, and the fact that they liked the colors of the existing logo. I then looked up rival language learning and student teaching organizations. I noted that most of the logos were simple and mostly text. I then brainstormed, and put my best ideas into illustrator. This produced 4 logos, one of which I was not satisfied with. After consulting with my classmates, one logo was a clear favorite. I refined that logo, in particular making sure scalability was maintained. Color Harmony: Double Complementary For the colors, I used the orginal logo as a source, since the client liked the colors on it. I then modified those colors slightly to ensure harmony. Typeface:Verdana I used Verdana because the sans serif typeface suggests simplicity and child friendliness, fitting with the child-oriented organization. However, it is still very readable and professional.
