Hello Sims and Mills I am Avi. I want to tell something very interesting & wonderful. I am attaching a report. I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN

India is a great country, despite being plagued by numerous internal and external problems all through recent history. The existing conditions of the country might not be very encouraging and this has lead to frustration among Indians. With the western countries seeming greener, large numbers of Indians migrate across the oceans in hope of a better life. However, if Indians take some time out and introspect into the values and

strengths of India, they are sure to find numerous reasons to be proud of. Here are the top 10 reasons why you should feel proud to be an Indian.
1. Communal harmony

Despite the fact that India has been inflicted with terror attacks and communal violence, the unity which generally exists among the various sects, religions and communities in India is an aspect to be proud of. While some pockets of the country do experience communal tension, people of different traditions and cultures coexist in the larger part of this beautiful country. Such unity in diversity is something which you cannot find anywhere else in the world.

2. Indian culture

Although the western culture is largely evident in every aspect of Indian life, Indian culture is so strong rooted in the country that it is bound to last forever. So what if there are more McDonalds outlets than traditional

handicraft stores in the cities? So, what if Indians prefer wearing casual tees and jeans when compared to more traditional outfits? Still, on every festival, an Indian invariably feasts on sumptuous Indian food and changes into traditional costumes. The kumkum tika on the forehead is not forsaken, nor is the Mangal Sutra out of fashion. Indian culture has sustained over centuries and will sustain over the coming millennia.

All through history, India has made major contributions to the world. Concepts of navigation, airways, algebra, calculus and trigonometry were all born in India. Further, India contributed the number 0 to numerology. Sanskrit, the native language of India, is the base for a number of languages in the world. In fact, according to a report in Forbes, computer programming can be best done in Sanskrit. Ayurveda is the earliest form of medicine and has secrets which can cure cancers. India was also the first country to lay down the construction principles for dams and reservoirs. Chess is an Indian creation. The list of such highly significant contributions is endless. They make you real proud to be an India.

4. The diversity

The diversity in India is amazing. Be it in terms of stunning natural geographic variations, varied wildlife, the cultures in each state or the language of each region, India is a true epitome of diversity. Nowhere else in the world will you find a place which is so diverse yet so beautiful?
5. Food

Indian food is reputed all over the world. Chicken tika, which is a typical Indian dish, is so popular in London that it has almost raised to be national dish. Be it the sumptuous biryani of Hyderabad, kababs of Lucknow, Wada pao of Mumbai or the petha of Agra, Indian delicacies have a very significant place in the culinary world. When you bit into a delicious samosa or kachori, you cannot help but be proud of India.

6. The achievers

Be it in the world of sports or politics, Indians have been global achievers. There are numerous people who have made India proud. The team which lifted the cricket world cup, tennis stars who win tournaments, boxers who rule the ring, shooters who are so meticulous and so many other achievers has contributed to Indian glory. Amartya Sen, Sunita Williams, late Kalpana Chawla, Arundhati Roy, Shabir Bhatia, M.F Husain, Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda are the proud gems of this great country.

7. Movies

Indian movies have been screened in film festivals all over the world. Special screenings of Indian movies are held in some of the most westernized countries. Foreigners love the drama, the magnificent sets and the song and dance sequences of Indian movies. More people in the world know about Amitabh Bachchan than about Tom Cruise. Indian movies have indeed made Indians proud.

8. Freedom

India is a democracy in the truest of senses, although people of the country do not realize the beauty of living in a country which offers so much freedom. For instance, in Singapore, you can be grabbed and fined for chewing gum in public places. In India, you have all the freedom to live your life the way you want to.

9. Technocrats and skilled work force

India produces the most number of doctors, lawyers, engineers and other skilled work force in the world. If you look at employment statistics of the top institutions of the United States, you notice that almost ten percent to forty percent of the work force comprises of Indians, be it in the field of medicine, engineering, research or information technology. This trend can be seen in almost all developed countries all over the world. So, in a way, Indians make a major contribution to keep the wheels of the world moving, which is indeed a matter of pride for every Indian.
10. Indian beauty

Every time an international beauty pageant takes place, Indians are some of the most awaited participants. Be it the international modeling scene or the fashion world, Indian women are right there on the top. Which Indian did

not feel his chest expand with pride when Sushmitha Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Diana Hayden, Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza and many more gorgeous Indian women wore the crown?
