Purpose: To purchase and use Chlorhexidince Gluconate as a substitute antiseptic agent for patients undergoing surgery and other kinds of procedures that require disinfection of the skin. Directions: 1. To present the result of the research in a personnel meeting. 2. To develop a core personnel (EBP Team) to facilitate the implementation of using Chlorhexidine Gluconate as a substitute antiseptic agent for patients undergoing surgery and other kinds of procedures that require disinfection of the skin. 3. To review the financial expenses/gain of the hospital in purchasing antiseptic solutions and the incidence rate of infections related to surgery and other kinds of procedures that require disinfection of the skin. 4. To have a pilot study for 2 months regarding the efficacy of using Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Povidine Iodine as an antiseptic solutions in reducing surgery-related and other procedure-acquired infections. 5. To compare the results of using Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Povidone Iodine in reducing surgery-related and other procedure-acquired infections, and from the previous data of infection incidence in the hospital. 6. To present the results of the study in a personnel meeting. Results/Accomplishments:

Evidence Of Success (How will you know that you are making progress? What are your benchmarks?) 1. Reduction of surgery-related and other procedure-acquired infections in the hospital. 2. Decrease in financial expenses for antiseptic solution. 3. Improved confidence rate in using Chlorhexidine Gluconate as skin disinfectant in patients and hospital personnel. 4. Improved patient care through provision of research-based nursing and medical services.
