US! Welcome to the first newsletter of Townsville What s On. Over the coming weeks we plan to launch our website for all things happening in Townsville. We aim to be website for things happening in Townsville so you don t have to spend all of your spare time looking on the internet or checking all the poster around town looking for what s on. All Weekend: The 2013 Great Tropical Jazz Party is happening on Magnetic Island 24th and 25th. Details on the website and tickets though Townsville Tickets. The program runs from midday until late each day, so make a day of it on Maggie Island and enjoy. Saturday 24th Townsville Crocodiles Clothing and Merchandise Sale When: Saturday 24 August, 9am - 12pm Where: Crocs HQ: 41 Keane St, Currajong. Its time to get green! The Townsville Crocodiles are holing a sale on their merchandise at their HQ this Saturday . Items from as low as $5. Get on board with the Crocs, Townsville Artist Markets When: Saturday 24 August - 1pm to 4pm Where: Riverway Arts Centre Specialty Markets from artists local to the region with stalls, local musicians and roving entertainment. Burdekin Bogan 2013 When: Saturday, 24 August 2013, 02:00pm - 05:00pm Where: Ayr Showgrounds - At the Rotary Shed For those who want to head out of town on Saturday and get in touch with there inner bogan. As part of the Burdekin Water Festival the Burdekin Bogan has typically bogan activates and dress code. Free Entry, or $10 if you want to participate in bogan activities. Dancing with the Townsville Stars When: 24 Aug 2013, 7:00pm Where: Riverway Arts Centre Dancing with the Townsville Stars is a gala fundraising event, created by Dancensations, with the help of many local businesses involving 10 local celebrities, sports and business people, learning to dance and fundraise for a cause of their choice. There are only a handful of seats left, so be quick. Contrasts - Barrier Reef Orchestra When: 24 Aug 2013, 7:30pm Where: Townsville Civic Theatre Classic Music Concert Contrasts performed by the Barrier Reef Orchestra and presented by NQ Ensembles Inc The North Queensland Cowboys Home Game When: Sat 24 Aug 2013 7:30pm Where: 1300SMILES Stadium4 Golf Links Dr, Kirwan QLD 4817, Cowboys Vs Newcastle Knights The second last home game of the home and away series. Come cheer on the Cowboys (or the Knights if you dare).

Sunday 25th August 2013 Toomulah Beach Junior Fishing Competition When: Sunday 25th Augustregistration at 8am Where: Toomulla Beach Park and Foreshores Part of the Northern Beaches Festival. Fishing from 8:30ammidday with presentations at 1pm. There are 3 categories: pre school, primary school and secondary school. Prizes for each category, and all children must be supervised at all times. Sundalah Sunday When: Sunday 25th August. Midday to 5pm Where: Castle Hill PCYC Are you interested in Finding out about Yoga in Townsville? This Sunday is Sundalah Sunday. Sundalah Sunday offers a series of classes led by local teachers , a small specialty market of lifestyle products and gifts which support self study and healthy living. Also offer you a menu of healthy home made afternoon tea selections. Bring your own mug and save $ and a tree! With kids activities as well. Full details are available to download from their website. Seniors Music Day on Maggie When: Sunday 25th August 12:30pm - 3:30pm Where: Alma Bay Magnetic Island Seniors Music Day on Maggie is an event for the senior citizens of Magnetic Island who aren t always able to travel to the mainland for the seniors week celebrations. The event is held at the picturesque setting of Alma Bay and includes a live entertainment program and afternoon tea

Twinkle Toes Open Night When: Thursday 29th, 6pm8:30pm Where: 1/49 French St Pimlico Twinkle Toes Baby Hand and Feet Sculptures, along with Two Little Apples, Charlie Bloome, My pampered little princess, Adele & Eddie, Baby Art Studioand Pretty Lil Treasures open there doors for a relaxed night time shopping experience at Townsville s one-stop kids shop. Sit down, enjoy a cuppa and have a chat. Invite your friends, the more the merrier! There will also be a lucky door prize for the evening. Kelso State School Fete 2013 When: Friday 30th August, 5pm9pm Where: Kelso State School, Yvette Street, Kelso Its sure to be a fun night for the whole family with Rides, Entertainment, Class & Market Stalls, Food, and more. For unlimited rides you can purchase wrist bands: pre-purchased for $27 or on the night for $32 . There will be a Fireworks display at 8:30pm which the kids will love. If you are a Kelso resident within close proximity to the school, please make sure your dogs are secure as we would hate for them to be scared and run away.
