What is Illinois Law exactly? Illinois offers a safe, legal option to unsafe infant abandonment. An unharmed newborn up to 30 days old may be safely relinquished to staff at hospitals, police. Or staffed fire stations, or emergency care facilities, no questions asked.
Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide an alternative to someone not able to provide for a child? It kind of does a little of both for if someone isnt able to take care of the child than the law is good but if someone is able to take care of the child than this is just another way to not having to deal with the problem.
