Crime is a complex and multi-faceted subject that is often dealt with in fairly simplistic terms by the news media. It is easy, therefore, to get a s ewed idea of the issues that are in a !ery close connection with the crime" such as the causes, the effects and the best responses. #s I ha!e encountered thoughtful and far-ranging studies throughout my schooling, howe!er, the true complexity of the subject has become apparent to me, inspiring a fascination with gaining greater understanding and a passion for ultimately implementing the lessons learnt in a career which has a positi!e impact on our society. $ince the high school, I ha!e been attracted to crime and the complexity of criminal justice. %herefore, I enrolled at the &aculty of $ecurity studies, at the 'ni!ersity of (elgrade. #t the moment I am a highly moti!ated, final year student, planning to graduate in )une, with the a!erage score around *. (eing extremely ambitious person, I now started loo ing for the best option where I am going to be able to continue my studies. %his is why I ha!e chosen to apply for the full scholarship for the Master+s Degree Course at %he &aculty of Criminal )ustice and $ecurity in Maribor. %hroughout the faculty, I had the opportunity to gain great nowledge in the sphere of Criminal justice and security, which I+m attracted to mostly, as my ambition leads me to becoming a professional detecti!e in the near future. ,arious specified exercises which I accomplished successfully at the faculty also encouraged me to enter the core of crime and criminology. #fter doing a research, I found out that your faculty has the most eminent professors in the sphere of criminal justice which encouraged me to put some more effort and become a part of your department. I+m a person who ne!er lac s moti!ation, and being a hard-wor ing and meticulous student can help me implement all the nowledge you pro!ide me with into $erbian society and our $ystem of -aw and )ustice. I+m an open-minded and extremely tolerant person. I+!e attended se!eral multi-cultural conferences and become a member of !arious international organi.ations that are in close connection with the students of Criminal )ustice and $ecurity all around the world. /ere, I ha!e de!eloped leadership s ills, as I was supposed to wor under pressure and o!ercome difficulties that I faced with at the time. I ne!er had any problems with adoptability as I ha!e been li!ing on my own for the past three years and I ha!e also spent a year li!ing in a student+s dorm. /ere, I ha!e also met couple of students from $lo!enia who ha!e pro!ided me with some closer information about your culture, as well as the polity of your country which I was especially delighted with. I ha!e a great desire to achie!e the highest le!el of nowledge in Criminal justice and this course will definitely be the right way for me. #part from getting nowledge at the faculty, I will be able to represent the culture and national identity of my country in the best possible way, which will result in a mutual benefit for both sides. 0hen I am not exploring my growing interests in crime and criminology I am a een sportsman and enjoy eeping fit. I am training ic box and some other martial arts. /a!ing wor ed hard to gain a strong grounding in the field of Criminology, both through my studies and in my spare time, I belie!e that I am now ready to ma e the step further to the Master+s Degree course. I belie!e that my responsibility and maturity can bring me the opportunity to ma e some impro!ements into the Criminal justice system and contribute into building a safer society in my country. $incerely, 1
