Canvas Migration Status Report: February 21, 2013
Canvas Migration Status Report: February 21, 2013
We have fallen a little behind schedule hiring new staff, but we have enough cushion built into our schedule to remain on track for launch of Summer A courses in Canvas.
Please welcome Carl Chaffatt as the first Migration Specialist on the migration team. Carl is a recent UVM graduate in mathematics who previously worked as an engineer for a startup company in Burlington.
We are in the process of hiring a Migration Coordinator and a new Course Producer. Once all staff are hired and trained, we should be able to migrate at least six courses per week. We will be hiring some additional staff to increase this number to at least 12 courses per week when we begin to migrate courses for the fall term. We plan to have all Summer A courses migrated by March 29th. There is a little bit leeway past the 29th, but not much. This graph charts our progress toward the goal of migrating 32 courses for the Summer A rollout of Canvas. A huge thanks to John Rogate for his migration of MSMIIT classes! We will send weekly updates of our progress.
