Dont forget to turn your clocks forward on Saturday, March 8th.

THOUGHTS FROM BRAD

For those who have signed up to go to Grundy Mountain Mission School this summer, we will hold a brief meeting after our 2nd worship hour today. Remember to bring your $75 registration fee with you. Dont forget to move your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night, March 8th so you arrive at FACC on Sunday at the appropriate time. You can still sign up today for our elective entitled, Just Walk Across the Room. This class will be offered in our Fellowship Hall beginning March 9th. This five week commitment should assist you sharing your faith. If you want to participate, you will have opportunity to sign up in the lobby today. I hope you join us as we seek to equip you for kingdom building. The annual men & boys Bean Dinner at the Heath Church of Christ will be held on Thursday, March 20th. Plan now to join us for a great night of food and fellowship. There are posters located throughout the building for more specific information. I am growing more excited about the upcoming days of spring. Things begin to bloom; grass begins to green and daylight lasts later into the evening hours. But most importantly, the Reds began their spring training in Arizona this past Wednesday. Its vital that they train now for the season that is coming. Each of us likewise must go through strict training now before the next season of challenge comes our way. Scripture says, Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize (1 Cor. 9:25-27). In our excitement about the days to come, let us live so we lay hold of the eternal prize. In His Service, Brad

BITS FROM BRO. DAVE

A PERSONAL NOTE: As you read this, Sue and I will be in sunny Georgia. We do appreciate your prayers for our safety and Stephanies continued recovery. We are not certain of the date of our return but you will be in our hearts throughout. In the meantime, the Sunday Evenings In The Sanctuary will continue uninterrupted. Upon our return, we will plan to resume our Wednesday Bible study groups. SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY: When I return to the Sunday Evenings In The Sanctuary series, we will be examining the prophetic ministries of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Zechariah and Malachi. Why not be a part of the 6:00 pm service each week? MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDIES: Watch for announcements regarding resumption in March! FUTURE EVENT: Once again, I am reminding you about Senior Saints In The Smokies. The date is May 26-30, 2014. This is the 30th year for this great event conducted on the Johnson University (formerly Johnson Bible College) campus and it is to be a very special celebration. The gathering is geared for those aged 55 and up. (We, already, have 8 committed to attending and I have mailed the first 4 reservations!) Registration forms are available. If you need forms or have questions, contact me. In my absence, our Church Secretary can provide registration forms and answer questions. (We do use our vans for travel.) FINAL THOUGHT: Some people spend six days each week sowing wild oats and then go to church on Sunday and pray for crop failure.

What if you knew that by taking ten steps across a room and saying hello to another person, you could impact his or her eternity? It has nothing to do with methods and everything to do with taking a genuine interest in another human being. Coming March 9th, I will offer a study entitled, Just Walk Across the Room. I offer this because I recently had a sermon series on the Great Commission and some of you said, I understand I should GO, but how do I go about doing this? It is for you, we offer this elective. I hope it helps equip you for changing lives. Sign up today in the lobby.

Book Nook News

At our March meeting, we'll be discussing Nick Harrison's latest devotional collection--Power in the Promises. One of our finest devotional writers, Harrison is the author of Magnificent Prayer and His Victorious Indwelling. His most recent, Power in the Promises, is a powerful and transforming work based on the promises and affirmations of Scripture. You can't read it without experiencing a new joy and excitement in your life journey as you learn to anchor your faith on God's Word--and discover that the anchor does indeed hold. A book that serves to renew your hope and infuse you with a new level of trust and commitment, this is a work that makes it stunningly clear that there really is "power in the promises." The next meeting of the Book Nook will be Monday, March 24th, at 6:30pm. Come and join the fellowship of Christian friends. All are welcome at the Book Nook.

WELCOME TO FIFTH AVENUE! At FACC, we focus on loving God, loving people, and turning the world upside down. We are happy you chose to worship with us today. We hope you return next week and bring your friends with you. If you would please take a few minutes to fill out a Silent Roll Call Card, located on the back of the pew, you can then place it in the offering plate as it is passed. Thank you. For more information about our great church, contact our minister, Brad Seevers at Brad@new-churches.org or call him at 740.550.9882. Have a great week and may God bless your life.

Core Values...
Values central to the life, mission and vision of Fifth Avenue Church of Christ are: Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through gracebased preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and SoonComing King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

How Can I Respond Today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member. If you would like to take a Curious class, please indicate this on your Silent Roll Call Card.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
