Lesson Plan Our School

This lesson plan aims to teach 3rd grade beginner level students about their school and classroom objects over 50 minutes. The teacher will check homework, ask questions to engage students, introduce new vocabulary words, have students read a letter describing another school, and do activities where students arrange and use the new words in sentences to describe their own classroom. Students will also be assigned homework practicing the new vocabulary.

AIMS: A1: to describe a school/class; A2: to read correctly a text after model; A3: to use vocabulary related to numbers, colours, school objects; A4: to make sentences using the new vocabulary;

ASSUMPTIONS: Ss have already learnt simple grammatical structures (to be, to have, noun, article, prepositions of place, adjective, and pronoun) and lexical structures (school objects, family members, numbers 1-20, toys, rooms and furniture, colours) Ss are familiar with oral commands, and classroom language.

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS: The Ss might not understand the oral commands or the tasks. AIDS: notebooks, handouts, notes, box of surprises, blackboard ;

The T reads the letter aloud, and then Ss Ss - T Listening will read by roles; each S reads a different line (all the students will Reading/Speaking read).
