Transparency Most Rembrandt water colour tones are very transparent because of the use of pure gum arabic and the pigments chosen. A few colours are slighty less transparent because of the specific pigment used, such as cadmium colours.
Nevertheless, since water colours are usually heavily diluted, this will be scarcely visible. These less transparent colours are marked with a 2.
