Placemat measures 14 high x 19 wide.
Coaster measures 5 across.
RED HEART Eco-Cotton Blend: 2 balls 1105
Vanilla CA and 1 ball 1340 Almond CB for one set.
Crochet Hook: U.S. Size I-9 [5mm].
GAUGE: Placemat Rnd 1 = 6 long x 1 wide. CHECK
YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge
given.
PLACEMAT
With CA ch 19.
Rnd 1: 4 Dc in 4th ch from hook (ch-3 counts as dc), dc
in next 14 ch, 5 dc in last ch, working on opposite side of
beginning ch, dc in next 14 sts; join with a slip st to top of
ch-3 38 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same ch as joining, [2 dc in next dc] 4
times, dc in next 14 dc, [2 dc in next dc] 5 times, dc in next
14 dc; join 48 sts.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same ch as joining, [2 dc in next dc]
9 times, dc in next 14 dc, [2 dc in next dc] 10 times, dc in
next 14 dc; join 68 dc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, (sc, ch 4, sc) all in same ch as joining, skip
next dc, * (sc, ch 4, sc) all in next dc, skip next dc; repeat
from * around; join with a sl st to frst sc.
Rnd 5: Slip st into space, ch 1, * (sc, ch 4, sc) all in space;
repeat from * around; join.
Rnds 6 and 7: Rep Rnd 5.
Rnd 8: Sl st into sp, ch 1, 3 sc in space, * [ch 2, 3 sc in
next space] 9 times, ch 2, [2 sc in next space] 7 times, ch
2 **, 3 sc in next space; repeat from * to **; join.
Rnd 9: Ch 3, skip frst sc, dc in next 2 sc, * [3 dc in next
sp, dc in next 3 sc] 9 times, 3 dc in next space, dc in next
14 sc, 3 dc in next space **, dc in next 3 sc; repeat from *
to **; join.
Rnds 10 and 11: Ch 3, dc in each dc around; join. Fasten
off.
Rnd 12: Attach CB in same ch as joining. Ch 1, (sc, ch 4,
sc) all in same ch, skip next dc, * (sc, ch 4, sc) all in next
dc, skip next dc; repeat from * around; join to frst sc.
Rnds 13-15: Rep Rnd 5. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
COASTER
Rnd 1: With CA ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hook; join with a
slip st to top of ch-3 12 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same ch as joining, [2 dc in next dc] 11
times; join 24 sts.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, [2 dc in next dc] twice, * dc in next dc, [2
dc in next dc] twice; repeat from * around; join 40 sts.
Fasten off.
Rnd 4: Attach CB in same ch as joining. Ch 1, (sc, ch 4,
sc) all in same ch, skip next dc, * (sc, ch 4, sc) all in next
dc, skip next dc; rep from * around; join to frst sc.
Rnd 5: Slip st into space, ch 1, * (sc, ch 4, sc) all in space;
repeat from * around; join. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
