ANNOUNCEMENTS
Ecclesiastes - The Search for Meaning - This August, please join us at Cedar Church as we wrestle with the meaning of life as 'it really is!' What do we do when work seems so tedious, life is unfair, fools get ahead, nothing makes us happy, old age treats us with cruelty, and our eventual death seems so depressing? The Preacher hopes to answer that question by looking at the futility of life fromGod's high and wise perspective. Pastor Steve invites you to jump feet-first into life's most knotty questions as we travel through the twelve winding and circuitous chapters of the Book of Ecclesiastes.
Friday Night Hike - Our next summer hike with Pastor Steve will be held Friday, August 8. Meet Pastor Steve at 7:30 PM at Hemlock Crossing Park. This park offers 239 acres of woods and wetlands along the Pigeon River. Hemlock Crossing is located in Port Sheldon Township at 8115 West Olive Road, West Olive, MI 49460. MISSIONS UPDATE
Dear Cedar Church,
The time has passed very quickly and we're now less than three weeks away fromthe end of project. It won't be long until we are all at school again, so please continue to pray for us in these final few weeks. Pray specifically that the things we've been learning will affect our hearts and that we would apply them in light of the gospel. Pray also that we would make best use of our time, at work, in evangelism, and with each other, and that we not waste any opportunity. Pray that we would finish strong. Finally pray that God would use these last remaining days of project to shine the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus in Halea's heart and that she could become a Christian before project ends. Pray that she would have the same joy that we have in Christ!
Thank you for your love for us in the gospel and for your continued prayer! In Christ Ben Van Dyke
