At last, gamefaqs, we meet again...huhu....huauhauhaa....BYAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!
ahem. *sits in a chair by a fireplace, pushes up half moon spectacles,
and enters recital mode*
When I played the demo from my Playstation 2 magazine, I was.. astounded!
It kept cutting me off, and while I played, I didn't even realise that
the purpose in the demo was to kill the guards with SK.. but I knew that day
that I played the demo. I KNEW that I just HAD TO HAVE THIS GAME.
Being a hard core ninja fan, I guess from series such as "Naruto" and
"Basilisk", I've grown into a ninjafangirl really. And now this game
has turned me into a wannabe. Hahaha. *cries at not having been born during
that period in Japan*
Hehe. Please enjoy this third installment, Shinobido - The Way of the Ninja.
It is my favourite game since I've played the demo, and I love it very much.
Thus I'll do my best to collaborate everyones information on it into one
ultimate Shinobido faq! yay! It's a nice time killer for summer holidays
here in Australia also ;D
I noticed alot of people ask me my age and etc, okay I'll tell you. I'm 19,
female of course, and live in Melbourne, Australia. My dream is to become
hokage..lol jk. My dream is to learn the Japanese language and translate
everything I want to! and maybe go to Japan one day, No, I definately have
to go to Japan one day! It's this feeling inside my heart which says it's
my second home, even though I've never actually been there! I plan to go
for 2 weeks in June this year..but there's nothing in stone yet. I want to
be an artist here in AUS or in Japan, but everyone says I suck at singing!
I think I'm good.. o.o;? "What just coz I sang when I had a cold you think
I suck!" Well I love to sing =P And look @ bishies, and play games, and
watch anime and read manga etc etc.. western otaku. No nerdy stuff here.
If you have problems with the faq/game, feel free to email me (located at the
bottom). Or if you would like to submit anything (secret, techniques, missing
stuff, alchemy, etc) also please do. All submissions appearing on my faq
will receive credit and be a great help to it's readers. Your e-mails will
be kept confidential unless you ask otherwise (people rip e-mails off of
these guides and send them junk) so I only want to protect your privacy.
Hope this faq will prove useful to you, and please enjoy.

0003) General Game Info
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
A Ninja action game, published by SCEE, developed by Acquire for the
Playstation2 Console. It's a wonderful game where you run
around as a Ninja killing stuff. That's about it. Well it has alot of ugly and
nice things about it,,but nothing beats ninjas..right? Right! You choose to
work for one of three Feudal Lords(or all 3 in secret), doing various missions.
The missions themselves are all different, but repededetive when you do
them a lot. What is one of the best parts of this game is being able to run
around as a Ninja in other peoples "skins", or "models". Another great part
is the stealth kill animations. As a Ninja, you shouldn't try to battle
your enemies, but sneak around killing them with the triangle button in
ways which they won't notice you. As soon as they notice you, you have to
fight! And that's where you might get into trouble... so then you usually
run away. It's largely about "a ninja can't fight an armies battle, but
he can kill silently, and kill many".
With Ninja items to aid your battles and missions, the marvelous alchemy
system, the perfect maneuverability (I hear it's better than every
other ninja game out) and physics, and awesomeness of the kill graphics and
amount of ways you can stealth kill, this game is definately a gem. I fell in
love with the demo, before I even realised the absolute beauty of this
game. While the story isn't much, if you are just thinking about buying this
game, because of the actual physics and ninjaness, I definately recommend it
to you. It's money well spent. Easy to learn, and slightly hard to master.
6/10 story 9/10 entertainment 7/10 graphics 9/10 replayability <- my ratings
Fan service for boys? Yes: Kinu's Hidden Clothes, unlocked by playing in
hard mode. Watch her run around in her underwear while killing stuff! ^.~
Fan service for girls? Well, if you love your bishies, you have Zaji and Goh
here for you ;) The rest are quite funny to go as.

Stealth Kill Tips
SK amidst battle
The animations, and ways
It's very fun to explore the game and art of killing in various ways to find
out what different stealth kill animations there are. I'll put here
some tips to use when trying to stealth kill during battle, and how to do it
without confrontation.
_________________________________________
/ `.
Stealth Kill Tips ; '
________________________________________\.'
1. Get good at jumping, sometimes it's the easiest kill jumping from a high
place to a person and breaking their necks. Tap triangle on the way down,
so your character knows he's going to stealth kill (without waiting for the
"CHING!" sound.) Same goes for peering around a corner, hit that triangle
because the CHING sound doesnt always happen.
2. Pick them off one by one, so that if you screw up with something there
won't be anyone around to call for help to.
3. Look carefully at the target, does he have a friend near by who will
see you when you do it? Do your stealth kills in ways that you won't be
seen by any 3rd parties. More than likely you can kill those 3rd parties
because they won't have anyone watching them.
4. If guards are making "rounds" walking close and far from each other,
kill him when he's far so the second guard doesn't see his body.
5. If you somehow kill him close to another guards walking point, drag
his body somewhere else so as to not alert the guard
6. Picking apart 1 enemy from a couple or many - get into his "suspicious"
viewing distance and run back slowly, to drag him away from his pals.
Keep him close enough to get his suspiciousness active. They'll say "huh"?
When he walks back, run up to him and stealth kill. If the body is close,
run away again so they see the body and not you.
7. Recently I figured out what an impact troops being hungry means for you.
(Lol I feel so slow). If an army is hungry, they'll not only be weaker in
battle, but also be more susceptible to sushi for sneak attacks ^.-
Like.. "hara hetta... oh, a piece of sushi flew at me out of nowhere ^_^"
Really..how stupid can they be ;3

Trying to SK amidst battle ; '
________________________________________\.'
::Some tactics you can use are::
If they're on the floor, you may get the stealth kill sound to stab them
in the head.
Another tactic is Lock-on L1 + R1 + X to jump over them, if you press
stealth kill too soon, you'll stop at their shoulders and try to twist
their necks into breaking. If you wait and your lucky, before they
turn around you will jump behind them and may get stealth kill sound
to cut their throats. Works mostly on savages.
When they are busy battling, and they dont notice you running behind them,
you slit their throat (or jump up and stab them in the head).
THE BEST TACTIC OF ALL are those nasty little stealth kill
scrolls ;D when you activate it any time you hit TRIANGLE while fighting
an enemy, it'll automatically stealth kill. Works on Bosses! And is only
active for a short amount of time.

The Different Stealth Kills ; '
________________________________________\.'
This is based on Goh the Crow. Kinu the Canary has slight variations because
her weapon is much different to Gohs, so just do the same thing with her to
find out the different animations she has.
Go to youtube and watch deks Stealth Kill video showing all the different
kills! It's a great video!
a. Sneak up behind (normal) slits throat (PAL VERSION ONLY)
b. Sneak up from behind in a river drowns them (takes a while)
c. Leant up against wall (corner or behind) grabs, pulls, blade punctures
d. Hanging off a ledge(they are close) grabs, pulls, snap head in legs
(sometimes blade punctur
e)
e. Elevated height jumps down twists their
neck
f. Surprise SK from the front stabs them from the front
(you must activate this
fast)
g. Surprise SK while they picked up bashes head with item, kills
an item they just spotted (you must activate this fast)
(it's quite funny to wat
ch)
h. Behind a screen (ie You | Him/her) stabs them through the screen
(twist the angle to look
at
the victim from the fron
t -
it's a riot!)
Slight variations when using these on large enemy such as Taraba and
barbarian chieftain. Taraba are heavy armored and some things dont work on
them.
You can't stealth kill a main character.

Finding the Stones
Ending the Game Faster
Mission titles to look out for
_________________________________________
/ `.
Finding The Stones ; '
________________________________________\.'
To progress through the game fast, read your letters to find out what
the lord your serving has found out about your soul stones.
Do the missions that "may have a soul stone" to get.
You also need to find the key usuba / ageha & baka ichi baka ni missions.
Check ? missions or ones from onji.
Usually low paying missions with odd titles are the ones you are after.
Read your letters titled "Information about one of the shining stones"
they contain hints at what missions to look for while serving your chosen
lord(s).
_________________________________________
/ `.
Ending the game FASTER ; '
________________________________________\.'
Well my first 2 play throughs I had about 60 game days played before the final
show down.. ._. so I'm trying to figure out a way to complete the game
as fast as you can. I know that you'll never be able to do it fast if you
leave Akame alive, because if he's not the first to die, then he'll have
"dummy" Akame's pretend to be him, and when his faction gets weak, and
you get Assassinate Akame missions, they end up worthless if not just for
the money.
My 3rd time around I was working for Ichijo and decided to off Akame to see
what happened with Sadame later on. Sadame was pretty weak to begin with, and
after killing some of her elites, I got the assassinate Sadame mission. This
is at day 48, and then after I killed her...expecting something stupid like
Akame's ploys, I was wrong...both feudal lords were really dead.
After the Onji "the war is over" scene, Two Missions remained.
Barbarian hunting and "The Final Enemy".. the last mission in the game.
Update:v1.30
I believe that you can kill the second feudal lord after you have gotten
your body back from being a bear... when that happens you get the Gamuran
mission. My latest play through was only 38 Days, serving Akame in Very Hard.
^__^

/ `.
Key Mission Titles To Look For ; '
________________________________________\.'
In my Very Hard play through serving Akame, I'll write down all the key
missions name titles, then I will go through the game again serving another
Lord to confirm.
1a. A glowing stone in Dandala Peak (Serving Akame) Long Grapple Hook helps
this mission, the stone is located at the very TOP of the mountain.
1b. A glowing stone in Nagishi Pavillion (Serving Sadame) It's in the main
building.
- Ageha Usuba Introduction
- Hebitonbo & Uzumushi Introduction
- Ageha & Usuba vs Goh [I sense danger..] (sengen town)
- Zaji encounter
2. Find the glowing stone (this one is sent by Onji), the icon appears as (?)
You have to vs Kabuto. Depending on level of difficulty, you may need to
Use hardcore alchemy against him. Please learn alchemy if you haven't.
3. Sadame's Treasure (working for Akame) It's in one of the
Towers. Kill all enemies in the area. Enter the tower via the first bridge
to the other tower. Go down the stairs, past the cannons, and down the
stairs again. It's right there.
3b. Ichijo is hiding something (working for Sadame) Quite a few guards to kill
off here, and a general samurai. You can get Ichijos model in this
mission. Stone is located just infront of the entrance to his castle.
(Where rice is found in stealing missions).
3c. I assume Ichijo has other missions that I forgot to record. I'll
get those soon.
Some time after, there will be an animation of Kinu getting caught.
4. A threatening letter (Uzumushi and Hebitonbo write a really dumb letter to
you, you need to rescue Kinu for the next soul stone).
The next couple of Cut scenes are of Gamuran and one with Ageha and Usuba,
with Ageha dressing up as Kinu and a disturbing conversation. O.o.
5. The shadow of the Mosu ninja(you will receive a letter before hand saying
that Mosu ninja are in possession of a soul stone), then you need to defeat
All the Mosu til 2 are remaining. Then cut down Ageha or Usuba to end the
mission. Pick up the soul stone that is dropped real quick, or you won't
get it.
5b. The alternative name is "Too good to be true" serving Sadame, I got it
pretty early also.. (before going through some of these missions before).
5c. Need title for Ichijo here.
6. The killer whale's eye (at some point you will get a mission called this,
it's the last mission storywise pretty much, involving those other ninja
clans.
7. Find your body (After this mission you are able to do the follow;)
a. Kill the second feudal lord
b. Kill Usuba/Hebitonbo and steal their bodies
If you do (a), you will get to the very final stage as soon as they are dead.
You can choose to post pone it for Mon though if you like...
There's another way to get to final stage without killing the feudal lords,
but you have to serve all 3 of them to get the hidden ending way.
Then just do the final mission to assassinate Gamuran.

What Lords Want
Mission Spring Cleaning
Mission Types & tips
Submit your mission advice
_________________________________________
/ `.
What Lords Want ; '
________________________________________\.'
1. If you are getting over double your initial base pay, it means you're doing
great!
2. Lords like missions that are completed with the following criteria
- you aren't seen AT ALL (thus no running away or alerting the enemy)
(They think you are a f***** s****y ninja if you are seen at all)
- you don't lose HP
- you do the mission in timely fashion
- you stealth kill everyone in the mission very easily
- you make good use of your items and the land to aid you when necessary
That amounts to your skill point bonus ;) ..from what I can tell.
3. In hard missions with enemies everywhere, sometimes you simply have no
choice but to level the whole place so you can finish your mission. Lords
don't mind that either. So long as it's not a "dont kill" contract.
_________________________________________
/ `.
Mission Spring Cleaning ; '
________________________________________\.'
After every mission there are 3 things you should do.
1. Clean out your character inventory of crap you picked up in the last mission
Using Circle button on items. Check which mission you will be taking next, and
2. Decide what equipment to buy/put on your character for that mission
3. Save game.
Now start mission. If you fail, reload save. I'm a perfectionist, I guess..
(and want a good end of game score =P)

Easy Missions. Not worth doing unless they have soul fragments. Don't pay
all that well. But Okay if you get this mission an a map you aren't familiar
with. Just be careful not to get spotted, steal an herb or two, and run back
to exit. A model collections HOT SPOT for feudal lords. [Check Model
Collection List for what maps to look for in rec missions].

I don't like Collection Missions. They pay like crap. But pay
attention ESPECIALLY to these missions. Check what maps they're on.
They are about only good for "collecting".. dead bodies, and objects...
huhuhuhuhuh..
BTW, you do get more rating + MON for collecting more, but you only get
bonuses as good as your base pay. Lol. So if you get payed 200 for collecting
4 herbs.. and you collect 8, you get payed an extra....... 200 Mon! yay.

===========
I don't mind Transport too much, as long as I get to kill s*** along the way
to my destination... but it is host to one of the "don't kill anyone" special
contracts... thus I hate it. My only tips to you for those types are to watch
the guard/ninja in your path's movement, and slip through when you can.
You can drop your package to make noises somewhere else and stuff. Oh here's
a strategy I concocted just now. Ever notice how you get them suspicious, then
you move away, and they move towards you, and get suspicious again and keep
following you as you move back slowly? Try using this method(without
the package of course) and then taking a short cut back to your package with
the guard still searching for suspicious activity that you've left, quite
a while ago, and go straight past his post! Don't know if it'll work...
but it works in my head!..in theory. XD

Another annoying "special contract:don't kill anyone" this is my absolute
WORST mission. I can't do it AT ALL without killing anyone. I don't know how
it is possible! If you don't kill them, they DO see you, and DO attack you.
You simply can't run off with the package! *someone needs to learn to use
spheres*? Course if it's not "don't kill anyone", It's easy..
Make sure to work and work quickly, they have time limits. Well, when you
fail the first time you'll get a rough idea how long you got. Lol.
Update: Master Alchemy, make +999 Unconscious Spheres, +999 speed potions,
if you don't know how, read my entire Alchemy 101 section if you know
what's good for you.
Another tip I have with this, is if you use KO sphere, and the package
is near a body, use your grapple hook to pull the package towards you,
cause instead of picking it up you'll kill someone ;__;..

You gotta sort out "who gets to die first, second, third" etc. And if you

I rake up the MON with that Kill More bonus, rofl.
Don't get seen in these ones either. Your ass is grass. And that Samurai

Lure out those assassee's with noises, hide, then get 'em in the back when

Land Mines + Shuriken activate them.
Sneak up behind the escort and kill them all QUICKLY from behind. If you
wait too long before the next death, they'll be alert and you are screwed
for time. You might find you need to run ahead to kill some guards that'll
be in the path and mess you up. I read a tactic where you run infront of the
oxcart and crouch while locked on pressing square. (my favourite move).
Apparently you don't get hurt.
Sure. That's good and all, but what if you want to do it in secret? ;_;
All must die!
----/----/-----\----\--- OXCART TIP ALERT!!!-----/----\-----/-----\/----/---\-
If you want to do it in secret, I've just read the PERFECT strategy!
Have some caltrops in the way of the front of the escort, and some land mines
infront of them, so they step on them and stop. The oxcart keeps moving though!
It'll push the guards into the land mines and kaboom!

-------------------- Submit your Mission Techniques -------------------
Well that's it, I'll update with more of those mission techniques for you
later on, or you can simply submit any ideas you have...
Techniques which don't require heavy alchemy reliance, such as the
awesome +999 spheres and potions that you can create, will be appreciated.
As not everyone is willing to "take the easy way out" or learn Alchemy at all.
Challenges make the game more fun. I'd like a way to overcome the robbery
missions, but maybe there's nothing I can do except use alchemy for that.
My thanks to everyone who helped in my understanding of Alchemy, if it
weren't for you, I wouldn't know jack. <3
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
00A4) Very Hard Guide
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
Okay, so I figured this needs new strategy all for itself... Taraba are
a bloody pain in the ass. And Kenobi..
Let me get one thing clear, don't even ATTEMPT to do very hard without
items.. ;_; Unless you want the biggest challenge in this game..
/--------------\
Story Missions
\--------------/
___Sadame's Treasure [Serving Akame]__
This mission is absolutely ridiculously hard. Just be aware of where the
guards are at the first few times you fail, lol. When I attempted to kill
Sadame to see what happened, she has the fake body thing also.. so I'm
assuming if you try to kill the second too early, then they won't really die.
Be careful of the cannons in this mission, you can use them to your advantage
though... around the tower you need to be in theres 3-4 guards. If you grapple
up (nowhere near the bridge to the other tower..) and run around, clockwise,
you'll see a kenobi ninja standing next to the bridge. Once you've taken him
out, discard his body onto the ground. Cling to the wall to take another
kenobi out just by the doorway. Drag his body around the corner and make
the guard in your way facing you get suspicious and run back. Kill him when
he turns around.
If you stick close to the wall the other 2 guys won't notice you, stick
to the wall right down to the cannons, jumping over them so they dont start
firing at you. There's another Kenobi down here that will notice you, run down
to the bottom and chuck a knockout sphere on him, then kill.
The other 2 guards you skipped will follow in pursuit to the noises, but
the AI is pretty dumb with cannons...they stay there getting hit over and over
til they die. So I guess it's not really hard once I know what I'm doing,
then. =P
__The shadow of the Mosu ninja__
This one's fairly easy, kill the normal ninja til there are two left. Ageha
and Usuba. Drag one of them away from the other, using "purple eye" technique,
and knock her out. Then hit her with a +999 bomb, that should do the trick.
It takes ages of just normal chopping away at her.. not worth the effort.
Pick up the soul stone!
__The Killer Whale's Eye__
Run through all the guards til the cut scene. I pick on Usuba usually and Kinu
will take care of the other guy. Just lock on Usuba and hit square + repeat.
__Find your body__
Run through those Taraba, there's nothing you can do here.
__Note__
You can play some more missions after this point, but you can also end the
game now by killing your second feudal lord. You'll skip the Zaji scene where
he comes along, though.
I really recommend taking a cicada shell or two, and at least 10 potions...
__Taraba Swarm__
Run through all of them to trigger next scene.
__Kabuto + 2 Guards__
3 +999 Explosive spheres should do it. Or 1 Knockout to hit them all and
stealth kill. (Cure potion if you need to protect yourself).
__Gamuran 1st Fight__
No items except status spheres really work on him, you'll need to hack away
at him to activate 2nd fight. Try a confusion sphere + normal square attacks
holding L1 up to him.
__Gamuran 2nd Fight__
Explosion spheres don't do much damage to him. But I tried a confusion and he
just walks around laughing. So you can attack him then. If you knock him
down though, sometimes when he gets up he hurts you really badly. Use normal
square attacks and a speed potion to attack faster. You can use a KO sphere
where he'll stay down til he's awake, which will give you ample time to attack
him. So just keep him asleep the whole time by mentally timing when you need
to use another KO sphere.
The other strategy is using a master's understanding scroll to stealth kill
him.
/---------------\
Normal Missions
\---------------/
Guard Missions
The only one I've had so far is guarding a merchant for Akame, and Sadame has
hired TARABA ninja to off him. If your HP is at 200, every bomb that blows up
near you kills more than half your hp, so it's suffice to say, if you don't
heal after every bomb, you're dead meat.
Robbery Missions [Don't kill anyone]
This is pretty much my main reason for using alchemy, +999 knock out spheres.
You should know what to do. But in case you are wondering how to not kill
the bodies next to the package, move some distance out and grapple the
package away from the bodies, then pick up.
Kidnapping
For easier time kidnapping the girls, knock out sphere+999 so they don't make
such a damn fuss the whole way out.
Total Destruction - Elites
If you thought Yojimbo was good before, you'll hate him now in Very Hard mode.
Don't even bother getting seen by him, lest your a good escape artist.
He'll chew you up and spit you out as cold cuts.
"My Medicine"
This missions is freaking hard, and you definately need to employ the work
of your +999 knockouts (or any number so long as you can stealth kill them
in the time they're asleep). I recommend taking along some Cure's as well,
to give yourself immunity to them, because.....just because.
If you do have +999 knockout spheres, have your cure and speed status on.
Go run into a bunch so they notice you, then run around til they are crowded
together, then 1-2 knock outs should knock out all of them, leaving you to
finish them off.
Transport Missions [Don't kill anyone]
If you can try to work your way around the guards, do so.. but if you want
to have an easier time with a more direct path, use a couple of sleep spheres
on key guards. Speed potions help too. But you really can do these without
the aid of items.
Stealing Rice [Sotai Tower]
This can be done easy enough without the use of items (Speed+999 will make
it go much faster though). Just some tips.. Only kill the guards/ninja that
you absolutely must. And when you go past the cannons, if you run along the
outside, it should be far enough for them not to trigger and fire at you
thus alerting like 50 guards. For more Mon, grab all 4 and chuck them down
the side, then when you've got the 4th take it to the exit, and choose
to collect more and the other 3 should be right there for you close to
the exit. (saves time climbing and jumping down)

00A5) The 5 Ninja Tennets=
--------------------------
If you are a Ninja, act as a Ninja should. Kill silently in the night,
lit by the moonlight and the flickering fires of DOOM! 5 vs 1 confrontations,
are not for you. If you are running away, for the love of god, don't
run into more enemies. Here's a 5 step guide to being a Ninja.
They are great for all you new ninja out there ;D and a useful read for some
veterals, perhaps :D
1. Know your surroundings.
2. Know your enemies locations.
3. Know your limits.
4. Know your technique.
5. Stealth Kill EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's focus on these steps
1. Know your surroundings
Get familiar with the maps as best as you can. You are going to be running
away alot. Learn to use your grapple hook FAST in "can't jump over that fence"
situations. A Ninja must be one with his environment.
2. Know your enemies locations
Well this is a no brainer. I can not stress enough that you MUST look around
you whenever the enemy sensor thingy in the top middle appears. It'll become
more vibrant the closer you get to them, while fade more and more as you move
farther from them. So LOOK behind every corner CAREFULLY without rushing in.
Just do ninja stuff. Think like a Ninja and you'll be okay. You don't want
to be seen! If you mess up too badly, restart mission, and you will at least
have a better idea of all of their where-abouts. Often enemies appear in
key places in the same maps, so you'll get a feel of where they are.
A Ninja does not exist. Because he is not seen.
3. Know your limits
This means try to pay attention to what triggers off an enemy's alert,
what triggers off their suspiciousness, etc. When you master this, you will
be able to lure them away without letting them know you are there, and then
stealth killing them from behind as they walk back or to a new position. This
sacred rule of the ninja also means, don't try to fight big battles. You'll
just die. Ninja have trained many years in art of fleeing.
4. Know your technique
Don't try to fight battles without thinking about how you are going to do it,
if you can't think of a way, pause the game to suss out your plan of action.
Believe me...it helps. Lol. Try using some recommended techniques in this
faq if you are too stuck. Also Know your technique reffers to, "Know your
escape routes if you are caught" should that come into play. A Ninja is not
a coward. A ninja values life. Anddoesntwanttodothemissionoveragain.
Know your alchemy technique ;D ctrl +f 0007
5. Stealth Kill Everything!!!!!!1111111111111101010
What the rule says. When I played the demo of this game, I thought it
was a cool Ninja game that you use weapons and crap to defeat enemies,
(no wonder my ass was getting handed back to me). This game is for
STEALTH KILLING. Stealth kill everything possible! Run around being unseen
by anyone, and if you are found, escape somewhere til they've calmed down,
and then continue your mission. Of course.. don't SK when you try to do
missions where the special conditions are "don't kill anyone".. Guess
who really sucks at them? Lol. This game taught me the final lesson of ninja.
A Ninja sneaks around in the darkness assassinating his enemies without being
spotted by enemies. He blends into the night, and in the morning,,,, he goes
to sleep. heheeheh.
--------------------------
00B5) Battle Strategy =
--------------------------
Submit your techniques to my e-mail (at top and bottom of faq)
Technique1 - Lock on L1, R1 + Square Uppercut slash, run up to body on floor
and repeat.
Technique2 - Lock on L1, Throw Shuriken at target to Stun-Lock them and finish
them only with shuriken.
Technique3 - Alert them into suspiciousness so they move from their comfort
zone. As they have gone purple->grey, sneak behind and SK.
Works well on enemies you can't get to properly.
Technique4 - Jump or Knocked in the air, land tapping square to do a
cyclone slash on the enemies below.
Technique5 - You need Kinu for this one. She is so awesome because you can
keep whipping with your chain an enemy and it'll hit all the
enemies who go near you, you can totally wreck a samurai general
constantly L1+R1 squaring! As effect as the Shuriken Stun-Lock
Hope your fingers arent hurting.. Cause you can't stop this til
they are dead.
--------------------------
00C5) Pre-Mission Advice =
--------------------------
All that pre-mission advice which would be more useful in one place,
like in the manual...or this faq.
a. Reduce the number of enemy guards
b. You can open sliding doors just a little bit to check a room before
entering
c. Be careful not to burn yourself with fire
d. Be careful not to blow yourself up with your own bombs
e. If someone is looking at where you are hiding, then assume that you have
been found
f. Warriors with different clothing have special skills. It's best to take
them out quickly
g. Use shuriken to detonate bombs from a distance
h. Destroy them quickly. You will receive a larger reward
i. Turning a dog house sideways makes a dog's barking quieter
j. You can use your grapple hook to drag people and items closer to you
k. Barbarians are likely to attack your hideout if you do anything to upset
them
l. Hiding in the bushes makes it harder for enemies to find you
m. Hanging inside of a well is a useful Ninja trick
n. Being seen will have a negative affect on your reward
o. Kill your targets quickly
p. Constantly running into things is a quick way to get knocked out.
q. Using lock on is good for both finding enemies and also for avoiding enemy
attacks
r. Not being found by your enemies is a basic tenet of ninjutsu
s. Take care of guards one at a time
t. A thirst of blood can be dangerous for a ninja
u. Use every item that you think will help you in difficult missions
v. Crouch and stay in the shadows to hide effectivel
w. Get back to your feet quickly after being knocked down.
[More coming soon]
--------------------------
00D5) Boss Strategies =
--------------------------
Again, please submit your boss techniques to my e-mail (at top and bottom
of this faq) for the following fights;;
/-----------\
MOSU Twins
\-----------/
These girls are bitches to deal with in very hard, if it's not very hard just
pick one and slash away (like corner them and do upercut L-slashes).
If it is very hard, run the heck away if they see you,
becaaause their shuriken kick your ass. Bombs away ;-;
/--------\
Kabuto
\--------/
I have a strategy for the final Kabuto battle, you must take out the other two
Taraba coz they freaking hurt. Just back Kabuto into a corner and L1/R1 +Square
him.
Another one requires a few strong land mines, run back to the start out of their
vision and lay some 3-4 strong land mines. Get his alert on you then jump over
them.. he'll fall straight for it and die easily.
Another strategy is making 2 +999 grenade spheres, to kill him in Very Hard.
His HP is just too big to deal with.
/-----------\
FUTABAKA
\-----------/
Reffering to Hebitonbo and Uzumushi of course.
Knock out one of them, if not both. If you dont have knockout spheres,
try to lure only one away far enough so that the other can't hear/help
him kill you. Or if you want, a +999 explosion sphere or two.
In very hard, stay AWAY from an awake Uzumushi, his attack is insane.
/-----------\
PMS no Zaji
\-----------/
He's such a bastard in very hard. The first time I barely made it out alive..
The second time I knocked him out into the dead pit on dandela peak ^_^
ALOT easier to deal with in the easy difficulties..
In hard, I suggest running the hell away as fast as you can, and sniping
him with bombs or knockouts&mines(shuriken activate).
/-----------\
Gamuran
\-----------/
The first battle is a screw around one, it's not until the second
battle with the Shrine Sword that you can actually kill him properly ~.~
If you get through the first one, dodging his telekenetic attacks, and slashing
at him when you can, you should be right for the second battle. Hold in L1 and
use R1+Square with the combo of holding L1, dashing at him with circle and
square.
My strategy for taking him out in hard /vh mode now, is to use
knockout sphere +999's and slash at him til he dies.

What's a Garden??? ; '
________________________________________\.'
It should be a nice place where you can put trees, and a lake, and beautiful
things and walk around chasing butterflies..but it isn't....it's much,
much, more sinister. You'll be horrified to find out what it's really
for..

Spontaneous Raids ; '
________________________________________\.'
Every now and then you get the most USELESS TIMEWASTING PIECE OF CRAP
and unavoidable mission to do, which is in your garden. You get raided by arse
ninja or savages who try to steal **** from your house. It's freaking annoying.
Now to make these easier to handle, you are supposed to set up your garden
with all kinds of lovely life threatening (to both enemies and you) traps.
My goal is to set up a defense so perfect, that going through these
tedious, boring, dumb & pointless time wasting missions, is a peaceful breeze
at the summer beach. Ie; the so called "don't have to lift a finger" defense.
And that is where I wish to help others in this GARDEN section who face
the same problem as me! I will try various things I've read and find out
1. What works
2. How it works
3. Where to put the stuff
4. Draw ascii diagrams to show how the garden is built
So if you have any to share, and can possibly do an ascii diagram,
or want to draw it on MSN for me (kinuthecanary@hotmail.com)
I'd love you forever.

Garden Defense Strategies ; '
________________________________________\.'
Here are some great general tips I've learnt myself, and from others.
* I've read a bit about some crazy cannon strategy to stop barbarians..
* Yojimbo strategy where...it's just him. I didn't know he was that great? I
guess he kept dying in my traps before I noticed. Lol.
* BEAR IS GREAT. Open his cage right before they come and move out of the way.
Keep distance from bear, so he doesn't attack you instead!
You do not want to get hit by a bear in very hard mode...
* You can make your walls higher by placing stairs on them. (It's the
back parts of stairs which lengthen the height.)
* Hanging off of these high walls will confuse AI out to get you, into staying
at the bottom of your garden, awaiting the cannon attacks.
* You can mess up the ninja/guards trying to get to you by surrounding
a small piece of high land you stand on, with traps, placed on low land.

Here is a revision of what my base looks like, in general.
To start off the revision, I removed the Bear. I don't need him..
I just thought to keep the name like it is...cause it looks cooler.
A bit like the Jecht Mach Hyper Ultra Cool Beam Shot 3 or whatever.
It might help if you read Fabrisios' Garden Defense first, as it really is
just a revision of his with some ideas of my own...

As you can see, that's the diagram from earlier, except... there is a new
innovative addition .. :P
You sink in your home using the copy trap technique, but you also sink
in the --------- line which is just before your stair line.
So on the ground floor, you have a line of dead zone and the cannons push
strays into the dead zone (if you are lucky).
Also if you grab onto the edge of the stairs, or just run a bit left
and right of your base where they can see you, you can unstick them from
places the cannon hit them as they try to get closer to you from all
the way down there.
T is for tower, I have a tower I climb up where it's just barbarians
and watch them fall down trying to steal from my cave house, and swat
the remainder that just sit there jumping and looking down at what
happened to their stupid friends.
I like this design because you can decorate your base with some nice nature
and other bits of scenery and just enjoy it while waiting for silly little
ninjas to die.
I start out on the shinto gate just near the stairs, so the ninja can see me.
When they're active they move more..thus die easily by the cannons. I think
that if they don't see me they will find ways to look for me on the top floor?
Well that would be annoying nonetheless =P
Any guys that manage to escape your pit of hell with canons and trees
and dead zone and crap, can be wiped out pretty much by your personal
guard :P (presents from the feudal lords) but I think they only escape
if you don't show yourself and they somehow manage to jump onto the left
or right side you can't build on.
And with that said, this defense is pretty damn ultimate, though I have
heard of even more effective ones, that involve you sitting still not
moving for a couple minutes, but they dont look as fun. Mine is more
like a playground.

Okay now let me explain that diagram..
The little s's are for "stairs". everything out side of the little s's is the
LOWEST level in depth. s's and inside are HIGHEST level. The beauty of this
defense is he's used the back of stairs to make his wall even higher. So now
they have almost an additional block of height. (why didn't I think of it ;_;)
Key: s = stairs S= Spike trap F = Fire Trap P = Pit fall trap
k, a, c = Knockout, amnesia & confuse trap
C= cannon of course and t = tree1 || = unbuildable sideline part
As you can see, all of the traps are BELOW his stair boundary.
The barbarians are unable to jump up anywhere. When they try to run around
they get killed by cannons, when they try to jump up on the sides, they get
either knocked out, amnesia (forget what they're doing), or confused (run
around laughing). All of which stops them trying to get up the side. And then
killed by cannons. Eventually they'll stay away from the status traps all
together. It's apart of their "progressive AI".
I'm yet to see a barbarian jump up on a side cannon to go up the sides.. but
there is possibility that may happen. If it does, you and the guards (you
place them around your home) can take any out..
Now about Taraba, Mosu and Kenobi ninja.. The wall is so high from the stairs
giving extra length, they can't even jump up! and the status traps stop them
from trying to climb up the sides...
Your position here matters because they may try to run around the stairs, I
suggest staying somewhere along the edge, in the middle, where they can see
you.
Hope this def helps people struggling^^

*********************
randymgreen from the forum has just told us something really cool about
the LW scroll (333 in one compound according to above) but that's not how else
you can make it! He received this information from Jade1000.
If you collect 11 special mushrooms, starting with 0,0,0,0,0 compounds,
add 10 special mushies to make 100,100,100,100,100.
When that's done, subtract 3 - 5 points off the total, so something like
99, 97, 101, 100, 100 (as an example it adds to 496), then use an Even Weed
to make it 99,99,99,99,99. Then you may extract Limitless Weapon, and use it
in your garden, chucking out your spare special mushroom, multiplying
them and making even more LW scrolls!! This trick is also useful for
getting more special mushrooms to get those tricky 100 value compound
strength potions and health medicine that you need for both Goh and Kinu!
---
Serenitychan: I'd like to make a correction about Even Weeds, if you make
the total value 499, Even weed won't carry over the 4 remaining and still will
make it 99 x 5. Each Even Weed outcome has a value margin of 5, starting with
the base (value you need each compound to be x 5) and rising 4 times.
Example, 2,2,2,2,2 total value can be equal to 10-14, where 10 is the base.
---
Furthermore he writes,
"Then go to the garden with another special mushroom or salmon or whatever
you want a lot of, use the LW scroll and start throwing special mushrooms
(or whatever) on the ground and picking them up. It doesn't subtract from
your inventory when you use something, but when you pick it up it adds
one. The first thing I did was to accumilate a couple of hundred special
mushrooms, 100 to make the "Alchemic Genius" scroll, and the rest to make
the remaining health and strength power ups. The special mushrooms make
it eaasy since you need to have stats like "100" in 3 or 4 potions and
"500" in one. It would take forever trying to reach 100 or 500 just using
random ingredients.
Using the LW scroll won't let you duplicate other scrolls by throwing them,
but you can take a LW scroll on a mission, then use any other scroll like
"fire" or "master's understanding" and you won't lose it, it'll still be
in your inventory. Or you could just throw a limitless number of bombs or
land mines, etc."
Thanks randymgreen for sharing what you heard earlier by Jade1000!
<3 Now I can see just exactly what alchemical genius is all about..huhuhu.

What do these Hard-To-Get Items do? ; '
________________________________________\.'
Limitless Weapons Scroll - a "one mission only" thing,
where you put something in your L2 or R2 buttons, and use/throw them
for the entire mission without them ever depleting. And if they don't break,
you can keep throwing and picking them up til you are full of them.
They might be popular with the "special mushroom" herb. Which you can use to
manipulate your alchemy how you want, and of course, make more LW scrolls.
Use also with Master Stealth Kill Scrolls in missions so you don't need
to make them again. (I think it's easier to make a LW then a MSK Scroll)
Alchemic Genius Mix+999 - is an ingredient which you add to your pot to
make -999 or +999 in ALL compounds. EXTREMELY USEFUL. I have a whole section
on this baby. ctrl +f 00C7 =]
Master Stealth Kill Scroll - otherwise known as "Master's Understanding"
this one was brought to my awareness by Fabrizio (while we were talking on msn)
Thankyou! <3 and Shion Sonozaki from the forum told me it was real and can be
made by 2 compounds having value of 55 =] It lets you Stealth Kill ANYONE,
even bosses. Lol. (BUT NOT GAMURAN UNTIL YOU HAVE THE SHRINE SWORD KINU GETS)
Hint: Use this scroll with Limitless Weapon, to kill a stages enemies
super fast because they run out after a while. LW lasts entire mission.

Alchemy Introduction 101 ; '
________________________________________\.'
Let me get 2 facts straight to start off with, ok?
1. You should pick up all mushrooms & herbs off of the ground! (unless it
compromises your stealth - ie; you don't want to be seen by enemy)
2. When you are at home, go into equip and press CIRCLE on all of the
mushrooms and herbs, and useless junk you picked up during the mission!!
This puts them in your inventory STORAGE at home.. the one Barbarians try
to steal from ;__;
Secondly,
ABSOLUTELY SAVE ALL SPECIAL MUSHROOMS!!! YOU ARE GOING TO NEED THEM LATER!
I mean it!
Okay, are we clear? Ready for the alchemy lesson? ^_^
Okay I'm going to try my best to explain this. You know those herbs and
mushrooms you get in missions? Well you can use them in Alchemy! You
unlock Alchemy after a certain game development and Goh "remembers" how
to do Alchemy. In New Game Plus mode you can use Alchemy from the very
beginning also.
Alchemy is the art of fusing herbs/mushies and turning them into other items.
If you need a more thorough explanation, go into the Alchemy References
part, somewhat at the bottom of this entire Alchemy Know-how section.
Also the flavour table will help.
If you don't have a pot, buy one now in the equipment shop. They have
strange names like "Pure Snow" and stuff, and look like pots. They're
found near the bottom of the shop list. You are going to need a few later on.
You have 5 compounds to manipulate to get your desired item. A, B, C, D, E.
It does not matter whether your compound amount is positive or negative,
green or yellow. What matters is that they are the correct number.
example: -50 green = +50 yellow there is no difference between these when
making pre-set items. It does matter if they are positive or negative,
when EXTRACTING ITEMS you make yourself using either an empty bottle,
empty sphere, or sushi. You can read about that in the Alchemical Genius part
of this FAQ.
--Some tips--
*Save up lots of money to buy the herbs [this is mostly the tip for my outdated
version lol, you don't need to do this, just pick up all herbs in missions]
*Special Mushrooms, Even Weed are very useful! Save all of them til I teach
you how you are going to use them =D
*How to get 100 compound fast;
I've deleted the outdated version, in favour of new knowledge.
To make 100 compounds fast, follow the special mushroom trick.
If you already know how to make unlimited special mushrooms, and
LW scrolls, then skip this whole section between the lines, if not,
follow the steps =]

The Special Mushroom Trick ; '

1. Have you collected 11 Special Mushrooms? If yes, go to step 2. If no,
collect them til you do, and read the tip just below on how to make them.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Making Special Mushrooms xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You can either try to get the 3,3,3 in a line yourself, or do it a (perhaps)
easier way. Just get your value pool total to 15-19, then use an even weed,
and you've net yourself a special mushroom ;D Or if you are SUPER lucky,
and have a pre-ready 3,3,3 herb/mushroom, that works too ;D then of course
once you get 11 of them, you pretty much have infinity special mushrooms
to make all of your stuff quite easily ^ ^

/--------------------------------\
Limitless Weapon Scroll
\--------------------------------/
2. You are now going to make yourself a Limitless Weapons Scroll, don't worry
about what it is for now, just follow these steps to make it.
3. Pick a clean pot, (I'm hoping you have a pot), one with 0,0,0,0,0.
4. Put TEN (10) of your (11) special mushrooms into the pot, turning the
value of the compounds (those numbers), into 100,100,100,100,100.
5. Once that's done, scroll through your herbs til you can deduce a value
of 3-5 from your TOTAL compound value. The value right now is 500. That
is 5 x 100. So it needs to now be 495-499. No higher, no lower. For example,
a herb tells you it'll give you values of 99,98,101,97,100 This is good!
That gives you 495 value so it'll work with step 6.
6. Once you've made your 495-499 value, use an Even Weed. If you don't have
one, though I'm sure you do, buy one from the shop for 600MON.
7. You can now extract a Limitless Weapon with your 99,99,99,99,99 values.
That is the "alchemic recipe" for Limitless Weapon. (well the easiest one,
lol)
8. Now take your Limitless Weapon, put it in one of your character slots,
and take your spare Special Mushroom and put it in another slot (L2/R2 is
what I mean by slot and ANY other item unperishable ie; throwable item
you wish to dupe. I have 2 suggestions, Salmon and Even Weeds.
Salmon because they sell 700 Mon each, and EW's because you'll use em alot,
n it's annoying to buy them 1 at a time. 100 Salmon sold = 70,000 mon! @__@
Good for buying Asuka Shuriken, empty bottles n spheres n other ingredients ;D
I sold my salmon by accident for quick cash...oops ;_; *go finds one again*
Also don't forget to bring the best SPEED item you have.. (hopefully you have
picked up a +300 sphere in your missions)
9. Go into your garden, go find a nice corner to face.
10. Use Limitless weapon. Then constantly keep speed activated on yourself ;)
This will make the throwing and picking up MUCH faster.
11. Throw those special mushrooms to your little hearts content,
picking them all up ;) Do this for AT LEAST a few hundred... (anything over
200 is fine if that's all you need, you only need 11 to re-do this trick).
Throw any other items you are duping which won't perish (ie; Salmon and Even's)
.::Throwing Tips::.
Open up the cross hairs by L2/R2 + the item assigned(hold it in for a bit).
Keep your L2 or R2 button held in, while tapping your assigned item slot
button. Throw into a corner and don't forget to keep speed activated the whole
time while you are duplicating items!! It makes it go much quicker.. I've only
figured this out recently.. you have it lucky! lol.
Now I'm not sure whether it's my machine or not, but many items/many moving
items seem to lag my game.. my machine is like 5 years old so maybe that's it.
But if you are experiencing the same problem, throw maybe 20 Mushrooms at a time
::.Throwing Tips.::

Making 100 Compound Values (A,B,C,D,E) ; '
________________________________________\.'
1. Add 1-3 value with a mush/herb to your desired compound that you want to get
to 100, making sure it's the "dominant" value. Ie; it'll have a word written
under it in the 3rd line if it's "dominant". Also make sure it's the highest
value!!!
2. Add 10 special mushrooms to it. You should have plenty so this is no problem,
if you don't have lots of special mushrooms, READ THE SPECIAL MUSHROOM TRICK!
3. You should now have 101-103 value. Just scroll through your list of ingred-
ients, keeping an eye on that 3rd line to see when it becomes 100 flat.
(Don't use a good ingredient, if you can help it)
4. Put that in making it 100, and presto you got the 100 potion/medicine ;D

/ `.
Making Compound Values 0,10,20,30,40 ; '
________________________________________\.'
I did this before realising the special mushroom x infinite trick, and boy was
it tricky! But here's an easy way for you to do it now ;D woot!
1. You need 5-6 special mushrooms and an Even Weed =] Swap weeds may come in
handy for using geckos on singular values.
2. Get A, B, C, D, E values all even. I recommend using a special mushroom
on a dominant value til the total value is 30-34. Even weed making it
6,6,6,6,6.
3. Make the value for A lower than the other B,C,D,E values. Use Gecko for it.
4. Use a special mushroom twice. Special mushroom will reduce A.
5. It should now be something like 0,26,26,26,26
6. Do the same with compound B & C, what you did with A. Lower them below D&E.
7. Special Mushroom. It will now lower B&C and might be something like
0, 21, 21, 36, 36
8. Now lower D's value so that E is higher
9. Special Mushroom. So it might look like 0, 15, 15, 31, 46 at this point.
9. By the time you are at this point, you need to use herbs and mushrooms to
make all of your values the proper value, but this is a method for getting
them pretty darn close. You need to fiddle around alot with herbs, but
eventually you'll get it right =] Using herbs which wont effect other
compounds or turns 2-3 compounds to the correct value in one hit works great!
Make good use of "swap weeds" to change flavours if your herb/mushroom source
is limited.
My method before was akin to using 2 special mushrooms to make all values
20 x 5, then -20 -10 0 +10 +20. That works okay too, especially if you have
herbs which will help 2 or more compounds to their correct values.

SK Scrolls (Master's Understanding) ; '

These babies work on absolutely everything, even bosses.
Except with Gamuran, you need to have the shrine sword received from
Kinu to activate it on him. Once activated, every time you triangle
an enemy, you automatically stealth kill him. Limited Time.
All you need is 5 special mushrooms.
1. Use 5 special mushrooms on a clean pot making 50,50,50,50,50
2. Make any 2 values 55 through herb manipulation
3. Take it out
4. I suggest making tonnes of LW scrolls because they last whole mission
and stealth skill scrolls only last a certain amount of time. Plus you can
use other stuff during the whole mission if you are using LW scrolls.
4. Make lots of LW scrolls and use them before using your stealth kill scroll,
so it doesnt disappear ever.

I removed a tip which should be here, because of new method.

How Flavour Affects Alchemy ; '
________________________________________\.'
Is it Green or Yellow? This is it's flavour. Flavour changes the outcome
of your alchemy depending on if it's negative or positive, same or
different flavour.
I'll make it into a table, this is to show you how the compound values
actually work, and what herbs you need to buy/look for when scrolling.
The left thingy is what the value currently is, the horizontal line of
the table shows what happens when you add a value of +, -, Yellow and green.
ADD G means it will add to the value and turn Green, Y of course means it
turns yellow. MIN means (minus) it deduces from the current value and turns
whatever colour it says next to it.
X (being what you have) Y (being the value you are adding to X)
Y [+Green] [+Yellow] [-Green] [-Yellow]
X /------------------------------------------------------\
[+Green] ADD G MIN Y MIN G ADD Y
----------------------------------------------------
[+Yellow] MIN G ADD Y MIN G MIN Y
----------------------------------------------------
[-Green] MIN G ADD Y ADD G MIN Y
----------------------------------------------------
[-Yellow] ADD G MIN Y MIN G ADD Y
\------------------------------------------------------/
Example: Using the table above, you can see +18 Green will become
-16 Yellow when a +2 Yellow value is added to it by an herb/mushroom.
*Note, even compounds + a different coloured 0 value in a herb/mushroom
will turn it the colour of the weeds compound. So take note of this.
*Also use Swap Weeds to manipulate values to your desired Flavour.
Hopefully this wasn't too confusing and you understand how the values
are made from the herbs/mushies!! If all else fails, just watch the
3rd line on the screen for what the pot values will become when the
herb/mush is added ^.~ You will get the hang of it eventually!!

Alchemy Refferences ; '
________________________________________\.'
Are any of these words confusing you? Or Alchemy in general?
Go into your alchemy screen and I'll go through with you what some terms are.
Pot - Is officially known as "Jar". They are things you buy from the s
hop
and put your ingredients into. I keep calling Jars "Pots" becaus
e
....that's what they are ;_;
Value - The number, whether positive or negative, of the compound. Your item
outcome depends on the values. There are "pre-set" items you can
alchemize with certain values in the different compounds.
Compound - There are 5. A, B, C, D, E. Those 3 x 5 sets of numbers you see
on your screen right now.
Total Value- All of the values added up together. Example, +2, +2, -5, +1, +2
is a total value of 2+2+5+1+2 = 12
Even Weed - If you were to use an EVEN WEED on that total value of 12, the
values would turn into 2,2,2,2,2 Total Value/5 = Even Weed Outc
ome.
Even Weed - Each Even Weed Outcome has a 5 point margin. 2,2,2,2,2's Total V
alue
Outcome Can be 10,11, 12, 13 or 14. 3 x 5's Total value can be 15, 16
17, 18, 19. Etc.
To make this simple, just use a calculator, add the TOTAL VALUE,
divide it by 5, and read what the calculator says, never mind th
e
value after the decimal point. That will be your even weed outco
me.
Special - Increases the highest value by 10. And reduces all the other val
ues.
Mushroom This is a great item because when multiple compounds share the h
ighest
value, such as all 0, they all get raised by 10.
0,0,0,0,0 + Special Mushrooom = 10,10,10,10,10
Swap Weed - Not a bad item, each one is different in that it will turn whate
ver
value yellow or green. I recommend having a swap weed which will
turn
A, B, C, D, E All Yellow and Green. Then cloning all of them for
when
you need in alchemy. Like you might have a Y, G, Y, G, G swap we
ed.
Now you need swap weeds that have G for A, Y for B, G for C, Y f
or D&E
Positive - Has a + sign next to it. + = Positive.
Negative - Has a - sign next to it. - = Negative.
Dilute - Adds to "Amount Remaining" total but reduces the values.
Pour - Adds one jar's values and amount into anothers
Wash - Cleans a jar's slate. Making it 0,0,0,0,0 and 0 Amount Remaining
.
Cook - Sucks and you shouldn't bother with it.
Amount - Determines how much of whatever the pot produces, you can extrac
t
Remaining into the form of an item. If Amount Remaining = 41, you can
extract from it 41 times. This only works for making your own it
ems
by placing empty jars and spheres into the pot.
Every ingredient you add to the pot adds +1 to amount remaining.
Read into the Alchemical Genius section and I'll explain more ab
out
why it is such a great item.
Flavour - Flavour = Yellow or Green
Dominant - What I call compound that have writing underneath them =]
Value/ They are generally the "highest" value of the compounds.
Compound If there are two or more of highest value, the dominant value
is decided alphabetically. A -> B -> C -> D -> E

00C7) Alchemical Genius = YOU MUST READ THIS SECTION!!!
--------------------------
Do you want to be able to make infinite +999 items? (did that grab your
attention? Lol then keep reading this entire section!!)
This section has just been the final touch to make my faq version 1.00, so
that's saying alot about how awesome it is! I'll keep updating my faq of
course though, don't worry!
I hope you have lots of patience to read this section. Please open up
your alchemy screen to follow me through with this so I can explain it
the very best way that I can! Also it helps if you make the ALCHEMICAL GENIUS
(or AG which I'll reffer to it from now on) first by accumulating a couple
of hundred special mushrooms using the Limitless Weapons technique above.
CTRL+F UP: SMT101
If you haven't got a couple of hundred special mushrooms, please go do that
now before reading on.

1. Hopefully you have your couple of hundred special mushrooms? No?
ctrl + f (click UP) "SMT101" (for the special mushroom trick)
2. Use an empty pot. It doesn't really matter which one, just make sure it is
0,0,0,0,0
3. Use 100 special mushrooms in it (declining the extraction of all things)
4. Extract ALCHEMICAL GENIUS.
5. Now read about what this baby is for.

Alchemical Genius Knowledge Base ; '
________________________________________\.'
Kazama Jin told me a technique which was EXTREMELY wrong. He said to add
a herb/mushroom to make what thing you want, FIRST. Then add special
mushrooms. Nooooooo wronnnnnnnng. (No offense, lol, but you helped me figure
out something!! So I love you)
He doesn't know about Alchemical Genius, so I guess it can't be helped.
I wasted 100 Special mushrooms for 0,0,0,0,-999. BADDDDDDDDDDDD.
100 Special mushrooms should be wasted on AG's instead. Why? .. well.. why make
only 1 type of potion or sphere, when you can make 5 types?
Once you actually have the AG, now is the time to choose what you want to
make out of it. This is where the POTS/JARS come into play.
Notice how they all have different flavours to each other? Such as
green, green, yellow, yellow, green (all in 0 value)? Adding your AG
to the correct pot once you decide what you want to make, it's easy
sailing from there. The influence of the pot values + the AG combined,
can determine whether the compound is positive, or negative.
So Now,
Step 1. Decide what 5 influences you wish to make, you can reset
your AG later and get all 10 items if you want though...
For the first use of Alchemical Genius, you can choose between the
following +999 items
Positive Negative
A Cure potions/spheres or Confusion spheres?
B Strength potions/spheres or Weakening spheres?
C Speed potions/spheres or Unconscious spheres?
D Potency potions/spheres or Amnesia spheres?
E Health Potions/spheres or Explosive spheres?
YOU CAN ONLY CHOOSE ONE OF EACH COMPOUND. Once you've decided what you want,
write it down somewhere, so you can look at it. For example,
-A +B -D +D -E (You can see mine I've left intentionally just below the
Table of contents section ;D where I realised that the pot "Clear Abyss" was
exactly the one I needed to get what I wanted ;D) For your first AG pot,
I recommend Cure or Confusion, Strength, Unconscious (for those nasty
don't kill anyone missions), Potency, and EXPLOSIVE! (BTW I made +Health
because I now have a 0,0,0,0,-999EXPLOSIVES for listening to Kazama, XD,
but you should make Explosives for your first AG.)
Update: I can fix my mistake up though,, I found a nice pot for opposite
status effects, and they all had 1 value in +A -B +C -D +E (I don't want
health though, so I'm going to make it's value 0 to pour my other jar into it)
What I did was make my E value 0 (and yellow, because my other pot has
-999 Yellow), then pump special mushrooms til all those values
are 999,999,999,999,0 then I poured the contents from my other jar.
I did this coz my other jar can't reset it's Amount Remaining, only AG
can do so.. so yeah. My AG pot has 156 remaining now ^_^ I now have
two AG pots that serve me all 10 status effects..hohoho.
___________Easy AG POTS for first 100 item extracts______________
Well, You will eventually have to extract if you want to do METHOD X for
upping Amount Remaining back to 99, but anyway. Here's an easy way to
manipulate your "AG POTS". Find a clean pot, and do the following.
If you want a compound to be +/- , have some +1 geckos, both flavours,
for all compounds ready.
If its a Yellow 0, for +1 you'll need to add a yellow gecko.
For -1 you'll need to add a green gecko.
If it's a Green 0, you need a green gecko for +1, and yellow
for -1.
If the gecko you need is unavailable, try a correctly flavoured swap weed.
When you extract the Alchemical Genius (after your amount remaining has
dwindled down close to zero), the +/- and flavour seems to be completely
random.. :o To get what you want, it's pot hunting from then on^-^
---Gecko's continued--
Get +1 yellow and green for each compound Gecko.
They are SUPER useful in alchemy, so go to garden and duplicate all of them
til you have about 50 of each. That should last you a looooong time and make
your alchemy much easier!
_________________________________________________________________
Update v1.30 multi status +999 items VMS101
Because I've just figured out *a bit* on how to do multiple status items,
I think it's best you aim for 1 AG of all positive, and 1 AG of all negative.
So you can have some uber strength, speed, cure & heal potion all in one.
O_o
I'm trying to figure out how exactly it works..but it involves
adding Valuable Geckos. Okay, the more valuable geckos you add, the more
active compounds you can extract from.. And don't be fooled by the item
description^.~ I made immunity + speed potion just to test, but the
description only says it gives immunity..went into garden and used it,
and what do you know, speed too :D So yeah, like i said,
all - effects in one jar, all + effects in one jar so you can make more
useful potions ;D
It's also best that you collect many types of Valuable geckos and then
duplicate them in your garden, so you might have the right flavour you
need to get your Ag's right. (they have a good use with changing the
value of 0, as well as even and swap weeds).
Note: I heard multiple effect items are half as effective as pure
ones! I think it's true because it feels like health/speed/str
potions are less faster than plain speed potions.
__________________________________________________________________
2. Pick a pot which will get you what you want! Just go through them all
to see the "outcome" (by looking at the bottom line of values).
I'm sure there's a pot which will get you what you want! If not..you need
to buy more pots ;_; but never fear, you can always reset alchemic
genius and put in pot with the reverse stuff, so you have all 10 item making
abilities!! That's what I plan to do.
3. Buy a tonne of empty spheres and empty bottles. They are quite costly,
12 bottles = 2100 Mon, 12 spheres = 1600 Mon. So save up lots in your
missions! (or Limitless Weapon lots of Salmon to sell, and then buy lots of
the empty stuff)
4. Now to make the potions or bottle of your choice, notice the WRITING
underneath your jar values. The compound with the writing means that if you
combine an empty sphere or bottle with the jar, it is the DOMINANT value,
and thus you will get that status effect in your sphere or potion.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxPREPARE!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
About Name Changing. Depending on what potion or sphere you are about to make,
change your pot name accordingly! Because the special item is going to take
the name of your pot!! so a pot named Confuse turns out as Confuse +999 sphere.
then if you want to make strength potions next, change the pot name
accordingly =] Or you can do something radical like SUPA DUPA STRENGTH UBER
POTION OF DOOM! .. or in not so many letters :D There's 16 character limit.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
5. How many items do you want from A, which is the current dominant value in
your Jar/Pot? You only have 99 "Amount Remaining" to start with, but you can
reset this back to 99 (I'll explain this later).
Use your empty sphere/bottle on your pot/jar however many you like to extract
99 - (x) amounts. So do you want 10, 20, 30? Just do it. If you did the Salmon
trick, do as MANY as you like! Just make sure you leave 1 Amount Remaining.
When you are done with A for this AG, go to step 6.
6. Changing the DOMINANT value. Dominant Value is determined by "order"
A->B->C->D->E if the highest values are equal, if not, the single highest
value is the Dominant value. Ie; the compound with writing underneath it,
to suggest what you can make from it. Now this is how I suggest to go about
making the items.
What I suggest to change DOMINANT value, is to use a subtracting
herb or mushroom to decrease A and A alone. In the ingredients shop, you can
buy a Gecko item to subtract A by 1 value, which will make B the new DOMINANT
value. If you can't buy the right gecko for A (ie; its the wrong color)
try using a swap weed to change A's flavour. That will work.
Then repeat step 5 again. When you are done extracting from B, do the
same thing to get C, D & E. And thus, you have +999 items!!

Amount Remaining Stat ; '
________________________________________\.'
Now about that Amount Remaining stat. There are three ways to increase the
amount remaining in your Alchemical Genius pot. Through ingredient adding,
diluting, or X. I recommend X!
----------------------METHOD X. EXTRACTION ABUSE-------------------------
When your Amount Remaining dwindles down to 2-3, use an Even Weed,
then use special mushrooms til you can extract it(AG) again.
And of course..you have a new Alchemical Genius to do with what you like ;_;
Which also means you don't need more than 1 XD Just keep on manipulating
those values til you have every sphere/potion/sushi you want!!
This is a good method to re-use your Alchemical Genius and make
different items from it than before in a different pot ;D
Thanks to randymgreen for sharing this tip he learnt from someone, to me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Method 1. Ingredients
You can increase it by adding more herbs and mushrooms into your pot. Try
anything cheap and add them so the value (tries) to go up, and not down.
999 value and 99 amount remaining are the limits to the pot. So if you get
down to like 1 value, and don't want to make a new one, start adding some
herbs from the shop that won't decrease the value! Stuff like Gamble Mushroom,
Special Mushrooms, will help you get the amount back up. Try the infinite mon
trick too with salmon (and more special mushrooms while you are at it) to
make enough MON to buy alchemy craps.
Method 2. Diluting
If you don't want to go through that hassle, try Diluting. (press square
on the pot and dilute) Do this numerous times til it's back to 99. While your
values may be going down, that's a small price to pay for what your getting
back ;D Once it's back to early 90's use an even weed if the values are uneven,
and start using more special mushrooms to get all back to 990's values. You
should have tonnes of them, so it's no problem ;D
And that's the wonders of AG and +999 item making, happy alchemic trails!
My names - Ubersex, Sleep Bitch, Hyper Power LETS, Moon Healing,
(sailor moon spoof) hehe. Boom Baeby(grenades). Boom Baeby Surprise(sushi)XD
Haha I want to make Silence Glaive Surprise now XD, **** ****,
**FLASH-ATTACK**, ??? Who Am I ???, Confuse, XD
You can email me any stupid names you make for yours too =P

/ `.
So, Serenity, why make +999 items? ; '
________________________________________\.'
Yes yes, I know. They're going "To make the game too easy"
Exactly. But if you want to play in very hard mode, you are going to
need them for those boss battles. Kabuto is EXTREMELY hard. This games
hand to hand combat system isn't good enough to deal with bosses on hard modes.
You pretty much can't get knocked around at all or you die. You can't trip on
your own traps, or you die. And with his hp, you need to "not get knocked
around".. for roughly 20 minutes without items. Very hard is....very hard.
With 2 +999 sphere grenades, you need to "not get knocked around" for roughly
2 seconds. Yummy.
SK + Items - A neat combination of this means fun. This game is just made for
Stealth Kills, simple as that. Items purpose are for when you f**k those up.
Lmao. And everything you can't stealth kill you should abuse the hell out of
alchemy made items, unless you enjoy mashing the same combo attacks for
5-20minutes...
Fun factor - if you want to have a little play around away from the norm, of
course you should! Try ALL of the items to your hearts content (and I know,
unless you like easy games, you will be contented, and contented really fast)
then go back to your normal non+999 ninjaing lives =] +999 speed sounds
veeeeeery fun. So does +999 strength for s**ts & giggles.
Robbery Missions - God knows how much I hate escorted item travel missions
where you aren't to kill anyone. What can solve my hatred? a couple of
+999 knock-out spheres. I can't think of ANY possible strategy without these
babies. Submit them to me if you know any other way. Come on, I dare ya. (You
can't 'cause there is no other way). =)
_________________________________________
/ `.
The Capability of these items ; '
________________________________________\.'
Well, they're actually super useful.
First lets look at what the value does for these items
_[How +999 Effects all items]_
Value Relates to Time that the User is under effect -
- Cure
- Confuse
- Strengthen
- Weaken
- Speed
- Knockout
- Potency
- Amnesia
Value Relates to power of the item
- Heal
- Explosive
_[Using them]_
SPEED +999 Spheres and Potions
What I noticed about speed, is not that you move faster, but EVERYTHING is
faster. You stealth kill faster, pick up items faster, etc.. Think about how
great that would be when you are using SK scroll in very hard missions!!
There will literally be no time for interuptions in the kills. And I have a
theory what else it helps with..let me check XD Yup, you can also throw stuff
faster. So these babies are GREAT to use for cloning stuff. It'll take
half the time to duplicate same amount of items than not using them!
KNOCKOUT +999 Spheres
Use these babies on large groups. Robbery Missions were simply made for them.
Bears (+999 Explosives simply aren't effective enough on VH). Maybe even Guard
Missions. When stuff is knocked out..you can stealth kill it quickly. That's
why it's one of my favourite items. Only thing is, you can knock yourself out
if it explodes anywhere near you. It has the kind of property that the farther
away you "breathe in the gas" the less time you'll be knocked out.. but if
you were as close to the explosion as your target, consider it a wasted effort
and anything near by that sees you will kill you. Cure potions +999 are Yay.
On large groups of bears, try running around a bit (with immunity activated)
til they are all bunched up, then use a 1-2 KO's depending if your first one
misses or not. Then quickly SK them all. Note: I got an "Excellent Job!"
with +1986 Mon for skill points. I'm assuming it's for using alchemy items.
CURE +999 Potions
These are great in conjunction with knockout spheres... if you screw up and
you knock yourself out, you have the bonus of some cure protection and will
wake up sooner (or not go to sleep at all if you are far away enough, while
if you didn't have cure on, you would drop like a toddler at 2pm)
CONFUSE +999 Spheres
Good for killing Gamuran in the final battle, at least I think so anyway.
Plus they are a bit cool to chuck at the various characters and watch
how they act high for a few minutes.

*When I'm done on my hard playthrough I am going to play on a new save to

*I also think that after I get this Akame Ending, that I need to steal
Akame's body to see if he has a second model..probably not.
Update: Akame only has one form, crapola!
*Uzumushi, Hebitonbo, Ageha, Usuba & Kabuto are all obtained from seeing the
three normal endings, each serving a different Feudal Lord. And killing
them after the whales eye mission, hijacking their body and exiting mission.

Ichijo Vs Bear \
_______________/
Just a funny story where I screwed up in a collection mission to get Ichijo's
body, actually it's quite funny. I killed everyone perfectly and then ended
up running out the mission without his body..*feels stupid*
Round 2, I killed everyone perfectly almost...til I got seen..then I killed
Ichijos last guard..ichijo saw me and called for help, there was ONE guy left
who brought out a bear.. I slit his throat and made a run for it, with Ichijo
still on my tail, I hit for the cover of the roof tops, and watched an amusing
fight with Ichijo vs Bear... 10 minutes later.. who's the winner?
The bear, rofl, thanks bear.

Model Mini-FAQ ; '
________________________________________\.'
Q. What are the ways I can collect models?
A. There are two ways to get models.
a) Filling completion criteria for the game to give you them
b) Killing the character, picking up their body and running out of the
mission.
Please take note that if it's an assassination mission targetting your
desired model, such as needing to kill Sadame's General, when you kill
him, the mission will end. You can't pick up his body, thus you can't
get his model. You can circumvent this by going into "Collection"
"Reconnaissance" and sometimes "Thieving" "Stealing" Missions, in the
stages those "assasinate" characters reside in. Check: Model List.
Q. Who are the "game completion criteria" models?
A. Kinu, Zaji, Zamuran. I got all of them after beating it in hidden ending
.
BUT YOU MAYYYYY be able to get them if you pass the game the first time?
Mosu Twins Ageha + Usuba, Hebitonbo & Uzumushi and Kabuto are unlocked
After you've played through 3 times, serving a different feudal lord
each time. I did Sadame first in normal, currently doing Ichijo in hard
next time I'm doing Akame in very hard to receive my last models ^-^
You could do Sadame, Ichijo, Akame all on easy mode, and still get your
extra models though.
Q. Must I complete all 3 endings for those models?
A. In theory, I'd think not. If you use master of stealth kill on them,
you -may- be able to extract their bodies. It won't effect story of
course. Because I've seen Kabuto fall down abysses in Dandala Peak
and he's still alive in the story. Master's Understanding (the official
name) can be made by any 2 compounds having a value of 55.
Update V1.10 11/01/07:
A2. Monstro first told of a way you can kill them, it is after the Whale's
Eye story mission. Any missions you see them in after that, their
bodies are up for grabs ;D
Q. Once I've killed them, then what?
A. Pick up their bodies, Pause, and quit mission straight away. Assuming yo
u
saved before doing this mission, I suggest that you quit the game
and re-load
it, to get rid of the trust loss. Don't quit if your mission is a collec
tion
one or recon. If you collected what you needed to, you can run out carry
ing
the body manually and pass the mission. Same for Recon.
Q. Any useful things about different skins?
A. Using Taraba skin will deflect all shuriken. (I sure didn't think of thi
s,
even though I know you can't use shuriken on them lol) Thanks re_schtauf

Q. I can't get __________ what ever shall I do?
A. For hard to get characters, try to pick non-assassination missions where
they have a high chance of appearing! I got my Sadame model recently
because of a collection mission at Sotai Tower ^-^ I'd never been there
so I
accepted it straight away after reading it's her base..omg!
Optimal Missions to Model Collect Feudal Lords & Generals
- Reconnaisance
- Collection
- Sometimes Stealing & Thieving Missions
When unsure, just read in the description where the missions are at ^-^.
Here's the locations you may be needing for the following people;
Akame - Fudo Castle Ichijo - Utakata Castle Sadame - Sotai Tower
General - Kongo Pass General - Murakumo Fort General - Mokuami Fort

Garden Object Introduction ; '
________________________________________\.'
Okay, some people decide that it'd be a fun game..when all is said and done,
to collect stage objects to put in your garden.. There are HUNDREDS of
them, so if you want to take up this fun fun mission, do it in a fresh
new game plus game. And possibly in easy mode?
To collect Garden Objects
- First complete the game once.
- In the stage, pick up the object you want to collect, and quit mission.
- You will run out carrying the object
- This DOES NOT WORK in missions that will give you GAME OVER for quitting.
- Nor will resetting the game without saving.. >_>;; it doesn't seem to
have the same effect as collecting models. So,,,
- Yup, you can only fail missions like mad and consequetively save.
- Collect all, and receive a prize? Oooh.. Treasure =D
(Update: The prize is a statue called "Commemorative Statue". I think
just a bonus thing for completionists.)

Below is a list of the maps and which items can be found on them. It's a
compilation I have made plus with some information gathered from the model
thread on the forum all put into an "easy to read" form =]
If the object isn't in the stage mentioned, bad luck. Try again next time.
Yay for Jade1000, I just read a post where he has done all the work of putting
the items with the stages himself. Thanks Jade! *Updates List*
Note: The items with * next to the name can be found in more than one stage.

This is where you can create missions, but I'm going to focus on the
skills you learn in the editor, and what you have to do in particular
challenges. Jade1000 has mentioned helping me with this at some
point, lol. Because I suck at some challenges and can't do them _at all_.
All help is welcome!! ^^
I had talked to Jade1000 about helping me out with the Mission Editor
part of my faq and he kindly sent in a few missions/challenges.

Practice: Triple Wall Jump Run - G/K, 1:04.41 (100)
Collection
3 Mushrooms
None
Residence
2/5
Ok, this one is straight forward, once you know where the mushrooms are:
you'll need to be proficient with wall hopping and wall run> static wall hop,
and camera control of course...
There are 3 sets of high walls; the first one is easily negotiated since you
can do a wall hop from a static position, the 'shroom is at the top of the
left wall. Jump off and continue forwards, the next 'shroom is at the top
of the left again, but this time, these walls have a bottomless pit, so you
have to angle your jump to wall run then go into wall hop. Wall-hop yourself
to the top. Jump off and continue forwards. The last set of walls is the same
deal, wall run>wall hop up to the top, you'll see a house, get next to it,
the mushroom is on the roof, since you have no grapple hook, use the ledge
above the door as leverage. Once done, go behind the house and jump down,
you'll see the red finish flag on top of the roof of the gates.
===============================================================
Practice: Mid-air Grapple Hook - G/K, 0:59.09 (100)
Travel
Destination
None
Mountains
2/5
Simple objective, you start on a high cliff, you'll see a pillar in front
of you, and then another high cliff beyond that pillar, the flag is on
that cliff, so all you have to do is use your grapple hook to land you
on the pillar in the middle and then again to get you to the far cliff.
Because your grapple hook isn't long enough to reach in one go, you have
to do a mid air hook as the title suggests and jump towards the target
to gain some distance before you hook. The tricky bit is of course the
pillar in the middle; it's not that spacious at the top so it's easy to
fall off it or over jump it with the hook. At least this mission doesn't
have a bottomless pit, so don't worry about falling off, because there
are stairs for you to get back up...
An alternative method (which I use) to complete this mission is to use
the wall run corner scaling technique as in the mission later one called:
Look! Another Wall! I use it at the corner of the far cliff of course,
when you're near the top, mid air-grapple hook yourself to the edge :)
===============================================================
Practice: Triple Jump Hook - G/K, 0:29.49 (100)
Travel
Destination
None
N/A
1/5
This one is pretty simple, basically it's a combination of static wall hop
and mid air grapple without having to move the analogue stick, align yourself
facing one wall then run and jump at it, jump again to do a wall hop,
then mid air hook, that gets you to the wall, then hop again, hook repeat
til you reach the top...there are 2 sets of walls to get through...
===============================================================
Practice: Tired of Flying? - G/K, 0:28.93 (100)
Travel
Destination
None
N/A
2/5
I'm only giving this mission a 2/5 difficulty if you're attempting to do
it properly! The mission wants you to practise your grapple hook cancel
technique. You start off on a cliff ledge, and there are two small pillars
in front of you that you have to use as platforms to get you to the
destination on the cliff at the opposite end. There is a pitfall after
the second pillar to gobble you up if you mess the last jump up :)
The easy way to do it: is somersault jump to the first pillar, grab on,
get up, same to the second pillar and then just forward jump and mid air
hook...mission complete!
===============================================================
Practice: Grapple Hook Hell - G/K, 0:11.95 (100)
Assassination
Nobuteru Ichijo
None
N/A
1/5
Easy peasy, the fact that this mission tells you to use the grapple hook
is the confusing factor here, because you don't need to use the hook at all...
you'll start on a tree, look down, jump off on the slanted ledge just below
in front of you, then you'll see ichijo standing with his back towards you
on a pillar in the middle of a canyon pitfall, just position yourself and
jump to the pillar, SK Ichijo. Done and dusted.
N.B. you have to SK Ichijo to get the 100% complete if he dies by falling
off/grapple drag off the ledge you'll only get a 70%
===============================================================
Practice: Climb, Cross and Pull - G/K, 0:23.01 (93)
Total Destruction
Everyone
None
N/A
3/5
Now although completing this mission isn't actually that difficult, I have
yet to figure out a way to achieve the 100% complete score! I think all
you have to do is drag the guard off the ledge with the grapple hook,
but it's ridiculously unreliable...
Anyway, use your wall hop>mid air hook to get up the first area which
has 2 walls that are far apart, go through the gate at the top, then
somersault jump to the next gate, you'll see the guard, when crouched,
you can get reasonable close to him without being spotted, but will
just get him suspicious, but not alert him...now the tricky part is
how to take him out...out of the many ways I've tried to kill him,
I've always got a 93%...just haven't managed to drag him clean off with
the hook!
===============================================================
Practice: Nothing to Stand On - G/K, 1:35.75 (100)
Travel
Destination
None
N/A
3/5
This is the ultimate wall running assault course! This one sure baffled
me for a while, mainly because the finish flag is nowhere to be seen, and it
did take some careful observation to get through this one!
You'll also have to be sharp with your wall running >running hop skills
since this involves gaining horizontal distance and height. And Camera
control is paramount here, since bad angles really mess up your wall
runs...and you'll be quickly frustrated because this whole level
is surrounded by bottomless pits...
Anyway, negotiate the first corridor to the end by doing a jump to the
right wall then swiftly, not immediately do a running hop to the left
wall, then quickly again before the wall runs out, hop back to the left,
now stay on the right until you see the left wall close in again, hop
to the left then right again, carry on running til you reach the far
end. Now angle yourself back on yourself so that you diagonally face
the corridor you just came from,

Practice: Look! Another Wall! - G/K, 0:26.05 (100)

This one is another one of those confusing maps at first; the idea is to use
the corner 'wall run corner scaling technique' to get your way up to the top
of the pillar in the middle. Go to the corner of the tiled floor area from
the start. Now turn around and align the camera to face the pillar in the
middle, you should see a 'cut out' bit of the pillar (which is an L-shaped
pillar) and hence you'll see the 2 walls converging to a corner, now you
have to aim to wall run close to the corner of one of the walls, then
repeatedly tap jump whilst holding forwards to activate wall run (hence
the camera alignment is crucial) if done correctly you'll be able to gain
more and more height whilst still remaining very close to the corner, and
get to the top...the flag is there, but watch out for the land mine at
the top!
===============================================================
To be continued!
If you have anymore missions to send in, be my guest! While I know quite
a bit about this game I don't exactly call myself a master :X

Cheat - Infinite MON + Infinite Special Mushrooms/LW scrolls
-------------------------------------------------------------
This isn't really a cheat, so much as a method. It utilizes the infinite
mushroom technique, using the Unlimited Weapons scroll.
All you need is to make Unlimited weapons scroll, and have a stackable
item you can throw and pick up, which is worth ALOT.
My best one I've found so far is SALMON which is sellable for 700Mon,
so basically. If you throw and pick up 100 of em, you've made yourself
70,000 Mon...
To make Unlimited Weapons scroll, get 11 special mushrooms. You only need 10,
the extra is to make more of them. Use all 10 mushrooms on a clean pot.
This makes it 100,100,100,100,100. Then lower the value by 1-5 total points.
So the total makes 495-499. Just add an herb which will do this. Now all
you need is an Even Weed. If you don't have one, buy one, it's 600MON at the
shop. Once you use it, you will get the Limited Weapons extract from
99,99,99,99,99 ^^. Then take your stackable item (which you can throw and
pick up) and the Limited Weapons scroll into your garden. Use LW scroll
and start throwing crap and picking it up XD Then leave when you are
done, sell your stuff and you got moneys xD Best item for money, that I
know of, = SALMON. If you know a better item this works with, e-mail me!

__NEW GAME +__, that's my term for it since playing Chrono Trigger.
When you finish the game... SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE when it tells
you to at the end! Then load that up and you can select a difficulty
to play the game all over again =) You can play Kinu at the very
beginning of a NG+, you keep ALL your items, money, stats, pot stats,
etc! The only thing you don't have are the advanced items in shops that are
only availble in the late game, and the feudal lords respect from
previous game. You can also use alchemy still. VERY useful as you are
going to be playing through this game at least 4 or 5 times to get
everything you want!
__Goh Model Change__ is the ability to press L2 + R2 at your house in this
screen with the following list; Mission Scroll, Equip, Options, To Garden etc.
You must be GOH. You can only select models you've collected or the game
has given you. You get Zaji's if you have seen the hidden ending =)
Not sure if you get it without a hidden ending..I did hidden ending first.
Model Change basically is just that. You look and sound different.
Same weapon, same techniques. Just not same looks =] So yay! You can run
around as Sadame if you wanted to! I love her robe ~.~ Collect models
by picking up bodies and quitting mission/running away from mission. More
is explained in the collection guide!
__Garden Upgrades__ is the ability to pick crap up in missions and escape with
it. I guess if you are bored and want to fully complete the game 100%..you'd
do this. Only you fail missions all the time ... and it's quite tedious work.
YOU GET A PRIZE IF YOU COLLECT ALL.. No, I don't know what the prize is!
But I'll put it up here + the garden object section when I learn of it =P
I bet it's something stupid and then when people collected all items they're
like.. OH *bleep*.. what a waste of time that was.. (Minus the pre-mentioned
hardcore people). cough. Update: I said I'd put it here..oops..^^" It's the
Commemorative Statue. And I still don't freaking have it XD It's too annoying
to collect the items... From now on I'll only do it in collection, steal,
and recon, that way you dont have to purposely fail missions over and over.
__Goh's Hidden Clothes__ can be accessed by pressing start while holding L1 + R1
or L2 + R2 in the mission view screen. (The screen with details of a particul-
ar mission). One of the Hidden clothes (I think L1 + R1) is him in this flashy
white samurai armor.. not my taste. L2 + R2 Clothes make him look a bit like
a Kenobi Ninja.. also not really to my taste. I preffer his normal clothes.
__Kinu's Hidden Clothes__ well I'm currently doing a hard play-through, so
I'll give you update on this at a later time. It better be something
bloody good, lol. Update:Yappa!!!!! Fan-service alert! Fan service alert!
I just knew it'd be this ..lol. It's what Kinu's wearing *underneath* her
ninja clothes...you first see it when she's just come off that water
wheel lol^^ Guess who's playing only Kinu from now on despite her minor
setbacks.. ^^ *wow leso much? xD* I preffer using Crow now..he's so geil!
__Crazy Ninja Hard Mode__ is a freaking funny ass mode where all the characters
(not including story cut scenes) are block characters XD like the ones you
see when you are making your garden XD absolutely hilarious to play. OMG KINU
looks soo funny XD Unfortunalely her hidden clothes dont have a block version.
What's bad about this is you can't see the detail of ANYTHING ur doing, it's
just a block holding a weapon, and when you attack only the weapon moves lol.
__Trust in Yourself__ is when you Pause the game, hold down L1 and R1
and press Down Up Right Left Down Up Square. The stealth kill sound will play
to confirm the code entered. Resume game and press RIGHT on the D-Pad a few
times to make Goh tired and collapse. It's kind of hilarious doing it in front
of enemies. I thought if I did it and they walked up to me..they'd think I
was dead...but they don't, lol!
__Iron Stomach__ can be used after unlocking it, to use it simply Pause the
game, hold down L1 and L2 and press Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Square.
The stealth kill sound will play to confirm the code entered. Resume game and
now all items are edible, when you try to use any item in your inventory,
Goh will eat it and restore some HP.
--------------------
:::::::NOTE:::::::::
--------------------
__Hidden Ending__ is the ending where you work for all feudal lords at once,
and I THINK pass the game with them all over 30 respect for you, with
you not favouring one particular lord.. though my trust was something like
60/51/59 to Ichijo, Akame & Sadame respectively. (That's a rough estimate)
You should do the hidden ending on your first play though in easy mode,
to help your learning curve, in my opinion. Also to achieve your desired
result, you absolutely MUST serve them in missions like this;
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3. (Unless it's a story upgrade mission).
Otherwise they send you a letter saying "you aren't accepting my missions
wtf is going on" and you've lost trust. Also you shouldn't let yourself be
seen.. AT ALL..in any missions. Otherwise you need to kill everyone so the
feudal lord doesn't know you are working with his/her enemy.
In other words, completing missions are more pains in the ass than a normal
ending play through. If you are having trouble with Hidden Ending,
look to the FAQ section at the bottom.
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
0A12) Cheat Codes
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
Now I think these are GAMESHARK? Codes. I don't know anything about Gameshark.
randymgreen submitted them via e-mail, saying he found them on a German site,
and they are untested.. so if you want to try 'em out to confirm if they work,
that'd be great. e-mail kinuthecanary@hotmail.com with subject: "cheat codes"
and also, the english name or what they do XD

0013) The Endings
=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=.=
!!!ENDING SPOILERS!!!
Normal Ending - Zaji died in battle, and poor Kinu's upset. It's a
new day and Kinu approaches Goh saying it's all over. The hopeful Goh
wishes to make babies with her, but she declines saying she's going
somewhere far away, he says he's sorry about Zaji and she said
it's for the sake of the clan, he tries to go nearer but she backs off,
telling him not to go near her. Awww.. Goh's alone again.
Hidden Ending - You get this ending when Zaji isn't speared by the
wooden steak that's popping out in Asuka village. (The 3 feudal lords
men catch him). It's another new day, and Goh, Kinu & Zaji are out by
cliff hanging out. Kinu says it's all over, Goh talks of rebuilding
the clan and Zaji says to him "I thought you'd stab me in the back". (Re: when
he walks away in one of the game scenes, and looks back, then walks
off) Zaji self proclaims himself as the clan leader.. ie; he gets the girl. Of
course that's because Kinu's in love with him anyway, she's clinging
to him, while he's leaning on her 'cause he's hurt all over.
Zaji says that Goh has killed the Asuka's ancient enemy, and he can
finally live as an Asuka again. Damn, and I wanted Zaji to end up with
Goh! They make such a good couple. They hop away leaving Goh alone.

/=============\
Ichijo version
\=============/
Ichijo says he's unfit to rule Utakata (really? wow, what a waste of time
serving this guy) and tells them to look up to Goh the Crow. He looks into
the distant sky and walks away, while two of his men salute him.
/=============\
Sadame version
\=============/
Sadame's molesting her Amurita statue again, saying how Utakata is all hers
and stuff like that.. and how Goh turned down her advances, how much she could
have done for him.. etc..lol.
/============\
Akame version
\============/
Akame makes some stupid speech about how all of Utakata is his and
life is great and how right now Goh's destiny has nothing for him,
and he should be up there with him right now instead of running around
playing ninja. Nice. And I was hoping he'd die from his disease...
/=============\
Hidden version
\=============/
All the feudal lords are at Utakata Castle, celebrating the end of the war
now that Gamuran is dead. Akame and Sadame state the war for them isn't
over yet, walking off leaving a shocked Ichijo, and a servant who brought
3 sake glasses, a little confuzzled. Quite a funny scene.

obvious things I think people want to know.

10. Lol
1. Q. Who are the characters playable in the game?
ANSWER: Goh da crow & Kinu teh canary (once you get her the first time
and she's playable at the very start in NEW GAME +)
2. Q. What are the Model Characters then?
ANSWER: Those are models you collect, that wield Goh's weapon,
but look and sound like the model character & equipped with
unique speech. You can only use them when you have Goh selected.
Unfortunately Kinu can't use the model switcher. Though they do
have their own unique properties (speed, power, defense).
3. Q. How do I get all strength potions and health medicines?
ANSWER: All together, there are 10 in total. Which brings your stats
to 200/200. 4 Can be obtained bought from the shop. (2 at the
very beginning, and 2 later in the game) and the other 6 can be
alchem'd. See the recipe section for how to obtain those alchemy
stat-ups. Don't forget you need to buy/alchem them twice to up
both Goh and Kinu's stats.
4. Q. How do I get Hidden Ending?
ANSWER: I'm going to put what I wrote in the message board here to
answer this. Here's a tip for anyone trying to get hidden ending;
1. Do the missions 1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2,3 so the feudal lords don't feel
like you are neglecting em.
2. Keep their trust levels of you fairly even
2a. Mine were all within 10% of each other. ~ 60-70
3. Don't accidently kill one of the feudal lords, lol.
And finally to see if you have successfully done the above
When there's an announcement that the war is postponed to get rid
of gamuran, and Onji says in a letter something akin to
"I bet you were planning on it from the beginning" it means that
your efforts have payed off and you will see the hidden ending ^.~
This letter comes after "Eye of the Whale" mission set by Ichijo
& the following up events thereafter.
If you are questioning whether you got the hidden ending or not, because it
sucked big time.. the answer is: Yes, that was it.
5 Q. What's an effective Garden strategy? I'm having troubles.
ANSWER: Yes everyone wants a good garden, ne? Well I can help you with o
ne
thing, and that is getting rid of barbarian threat from stealing your st
uff.
This idea actually came from someone on the gamefaqs forum called
Shion Sonozaki. Our friend randymgreen was nice enough to describe how t
o
copy and paste the tunnel to the underworld terrain over your house.
randymgreen writes,
"Here's how I did it: In edit mode (of course) paste a "pit trap" unit
anywhere on the ground, THEN BACK OUT OF THE MENUS, AND SELECT PIT TRAP
SQUARE WITH... the R1 button and it turns light blue, then hit the L1 button
and it turns yellow. Now you can move this square around and what you'll see
is the hole in the ground, not the trap itself."
ser-chan: paste the trap terrain it with X once it's been copied.
So hopefully this will help you somewhat. What it'll look like, is black
crap underneath your house. This is good. This means it worked. When you
actually enter your garden you'll see your house down a HUGE pit.
If you even try to jump up onto the top of your house from the edge,
you will die. So it's suffice to say what will happen to those them ther
e
barbarians..
After you've got that, you can do pretty much anything. My last time of
course, regarding this matter, it EXPERIMENT. Cannons are awesome. Try
to play around with cannons to get them to fire at the other non
barbarian enemies so you don't have to do much.
I have a pit of hell line, so my line of cannons fires at them and if
they don't die from that, they get knocked into the pit of hell.
Experiment. Less effort = more fun. Even though I'm always really hyper
and jumping all over the place in my boredom of defense missions =P
Set up your defense so there's no idling for your enemies, and nothing
is getting killed. That sucks. I fell asleep one time during a def,
and er.. when I woke up it was morning and I had failed. That's
because of that idling issue. Don't let em able to idle if you
aren't doing anything to them.
Um, oh yeah and Shion also mentioned for killing the ninja you can
create a triangular pillar to the highest extension, set your icon
on it so you are standing on it at the beginning of the mission,
and have traps surrounding all around it.. starting with pit traps,
then alternating spike/fire traps around those. That apparently kills
them all, but I'm yet to try it. You can come up with anything you
like, but the most useful thing of all is putting your house in the pit
to save your itens from all those pesky barbarians.
6. Q. My character isn't drinking potions and only throwing them.
ANSWER: You are holding in the button for too long and bringing
out the cross hairs. Just press the button while holding the L2/R2.
Well I've noticed theres 3 kinds of button pushes.
Tap: Throws item
Press: Uses item
Holds: Aims item
They vary by how long you are holding onto the button...
7. Q. What happens if you keep the package which is obviously a
soul stone?
ANSWER: The feudal lord gets pissed. If you just trust him he will
also treat you well and send you back the soul stone he wants to
see for himself ;)
8. Q. I'm seeing repeats of missions, is this a bug?
ANSWER: To be honest, I can't really answer that... I figure that
it is just the missions repeat themselves a whole lot because
the game doesn't have much variety. I too know what it's like to
do the same missions over and over. But I think it's even more
so when you aren't accepting the soul stone missions.
9. Q. I'm still not getting the hidden ending story sequence..haaalp.
ANSWER: The thing you are looking for is Onji's letter about
everyone working together. You will also see it in the news
that the 3 feudal lords have put off the war against each other
in favour of working together to stop the bigger threat. If
you have been serving them unbiasedly, have close % scores,
by the time you do the Eye of the whale mission (of ichijos)
which gets the 7th soul fragment, you should have gotten
onjis letter about temporary peace. It is best that you save
game before Eye of the whale mission, and after you get your
body back, see if you've got the correct ending. (If you've
failed the hidden ending one of the lords will send you a
video message telling you world domination is theirs or
something XD)
Let me give you an example, I was doing a playthrough to
figure out why you guys arent getting the hidden ending,
it may just well be that you've passed the 'eye of the
whale mission' in favour of one lord and they sent you
a message.. so you've been working your butt off trying
to get that letter that simply won't come.
You MUST have CLOSE trust % before you do the
eye of whale. One time I tried 50/50/65 (Sadame had more
trust) and she sent me the letter... then I reloaded my
save, did a few more missions and in a protect samurai
general mission I "Accidently" bs'd him..lol. This made
my trust % with sadame -15%! so it was then 50/50/49
So I thought, what the hell, let's try the eye of
the whale now.. and after all the events, peace letter.
So the key to getting hidden ending is the follows:
- Close trust % with ALL 3 (have noone infront by say
more than 5-9)
- Save before doing Eye of the whale mission (ichijo)
- Complete Eye of the whale mission
Afterwards you should get the hidden ending guaranteed.
If not, reload your save and fix your trust %.
If one lord is too high by about 10-15, backstab them like I did with
Sadame.
10. Q. And I've read all your faq, and I want to ask about "wtf",
are this mean "what the f**k"? (You're woman, but your language
so "gituuu deh!")
ANSWER: Lol I found this question humorous so I just thought
I would share it. Everyone laugh with me! hahahahahahah! .... -.-
My language is what it is and I hold no reservation online,
because quite simply I don't care. Though I don't know how you
can call typing "wtf" in writing foul language...lol. And actually
I'm quite good at holding back in faqs :x the worst thing I've
said is what,, crap? I don't really know gamefaqs laws on
bad language, so I don't step across that border.
Don't forget to send in your questions to me and I'll answer them if this
FAQ doesn't.

Alchemy Tips & Recipes -Submitted by Zap Gaspix | )
__________________________________________________________________________\/
Hi there,
I have been using your guide to help me
with the Alchemy in Shinobido.
Some of the letters Onji sends Goh have Alchemy
recipes. I have made them up, although some of them to
a lot of stuffing around with swapping pots and buying
ingredients. Some times not all the ingredients are
available. If you save and quit then reload the
ingredients that were missing may be there.
Here is a list of the recipes that are sent to Goh and
what they produce.
4/6/4/9 = Salmon. (This will save you having to look
for it, before it appears in the buy item list.)
8/9/8/9 = Ninja Flame Scroll. (The letter mentions
fire)
2/4/6/8 = Double Jump Scroll.
1/3/5/7 = Double Jump Scroll
1/23/45 = Cicada Shell.
12/3/45 = Cicada Shell. There are easier ways to make
this Scroll.
The next recipe I found by accident.
44/44/44/44/44 = Invisible Shadow Scroll. (A ninja art
that gives you the ability to hide yourself in a cloud
of fog.) Make you invisible but only for a few
seconds.
This is easy to make. Use four Special Mushrooms in an
empty pot. Add two Gamblers Mushrooms. This should
give you a result of 3 x 40 and 2 x 50 or 40 x 40 and
1 x 60. Then add an Evanweed. A letter came later in
the game after I had found this, from Taraba ninja #44
saying something about lining up like numbers.
I think some of the letters from strange people are
cryptic clues for recipes.
(ser: yeah me too.. they're a bit too random to NOT be cryptic clues)
Also did you know you can Stealth Kill a Bear if it is
distracted while eating a Salmon. I think sushi will
work too.

Thanks Zap!

Shinobido Alchemy Tip -Submitted by Tenchi | )
__________________________________________________________________________\/
Having created all the pots of alchemy you required. If contents
are running low to extract.
Have a spare pot ready, any will do.
Add as many things in there as possible, say 300. Dilute the contents
to all zeros. Then pour the contents into pot of alchemy that
is running low in quantity.
Figures stay the same but quanitity is greatly increases.
ser: A great use to put all the crap you pick up, nice tip Tenchi!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------/\
Assault and Trust Tip -Submitted by Zaji | )
__________________________________________________________________________\/
I also saw the strategy for the "assault" missions. I could say:
if you make 2 or 3 stealth kills and throw a 999 bomb on the oxcart,
youll get a rank of 100%, since the guards are closer to the cart.
Of course. The sight of those idiots stepping on mines and flying is
amazing, but the other way is quicker and safer. A hint(I guess you
already know) about that cheat "trust in yourself":if you jump and
immediatly press left(direcional).the character will "fly" in a
great jump. Also, while in air, if you press left and square
alternadly and quickly, the character wont fall. This is useful
for escape pit traps or something like it.
Thanks "Zaji" :P

Model Properties Tip -Submitted by Troll | )
__________________________________________________________________________\/
Hi Kinu!
I have a tip for all you model changers out there!
Different models at Goh is different strong!
The Taraba ninja (Robotninja) has much more hp but a little less
attack dmg and speed, and a bug when hanging from a overhang or
stuffs like that, the mosu ninja(Girlninja) is much faster but with
a little less hp and attack dmg and the boyninja, (have forgotten
the name) is a little slower and a little less hp but with better
attack dmg!
Maby there are others models that have different abilities, btw,
i know a bug if you want to be a bear with gohs model that was
much attack dmg, hp and normal speed and a bug with the hanging
from a overhang.
You cant pick up a bear UNLESS you be Akame and use
Str potion+999 (it can't be potion with all the effects,
it can ONLY be str-effect) then you can pick the bear up!
Ser: Okay, great! ...where's the bug? =P Also Taraba aren't robots
X_X this is feudal japan, they don't have any kind of computer
technology x_X What you are seeing is just big ass heavy armor.

Garden & Lord Kill Tips -Submitted by Shoges | )
__________________________________________________________________________\/
Garden: If you are up against Taraba/Mosu/Kenobi Ninja
or Warriors, place yourself in a tower on elevated ground
and surround the tower with bottomless pits... then go
and take a 20min nap or a beer. By the time you get back,
all enemies should be dead. Just be sure that the tower is
on elevated ground and that the surrounding ground is low.
If you are up against Barbarians, then I cannot help you at
this stage as I am in the middle of perfecting this part.
(Ser: sunken home helps)
Lords: if you wish to assassinate a lord without being seen,
here are a few strategies.
- Stand a fair distace away from the target, grab your shuriken,
aim just above the target's head and fire away.
- Use Invisible Shadow and lay mines everywhere
- Use Invisible Shadow and Master's Understanding
- Use Knockout Sphere and lay mines everywhere
- Use Knockout Sphere and Master's Understanding
Ser: That's interesting, I've never really used Invisible
Shadow much before.
