ABOUT THE FWAA-NFF GRANTLAND RICE SUPER 16 POLL: The FWAA-NFF Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll ranks the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, polling a diverse group of experts for their insights into the top teams each week during the regular season. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers, College Football Hall of Famers, NFF Board Members and highly regarded collegiate administrators who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective as well as a diversity of viewpoints from the different roles associated with the game. The Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF) launched the poll at the start of the 2014 season, and the results, including the votes of the individual members, are made public each Monday. The 2014 poll began Sept. 15 and will conclude with a final ranking on Dec. 7. The poll is named in honor of Grantland Rice, the great sportswriter who played a key role in the history of both organizations as an FWAA member and NFF president.
