The industrys most versatile integrated system is also
amazingly simple! RigSense incorporates NOVs leading sensor
technologies with the latest in computer and data acquisition
systems. RigSense include productivity features, automated
report generation, notes, messaging, remote data transfer,
wireless communication, and multiple language support.
RigSense meets the most important needs of contractors and
operators alike:
Electronic Drilling Recorder (EDR), which plots by time and
depth
Pit Volume Totalizer (PVT), delivering vital mud and flow
information
CAODC/IADC approved reports and custom reports
WITS communication and advanced wireless networking
Unit conversion
RigSense is much more than just a drill floor monitor. Alarm
conditions indicated by readily identifiable yellow and red
backgrounds can be modified so you may proactively manage
your drilling process before problems occur.
Electronic Drilling Recorder (EDR)
The RigSense EDR offers unparalleled ease of use coupled with
a high degree of flexibility. The tab-based format of the RigSense
information display offers quick and easy access to commonly
used operations, and switches between time and depth charting
at the touch of a button. Individual users can customize the EDR
to display 2, 3, or 4 pens per strip chart. Digital readouts (also
known as EZ view screens), can display up to 25 channels.
RigSense screens can also be configured to display only the
specific data needed for a particular rig operation. The RigSense
system operates as a single interface, allowing rig personnel to
access historical information, make notes and send messages
to communicate with other displays at the rig site.
Pit Volume Totalizer (PVT)
With a touch of a finger, the RigSense system becomes a PVT
system, delivering vital information on mud volume and flow
conditions.These parameters can be monitored so a potential
kick can be mitigated quickly and effectively. The company man
and toolpusher can instantly review the same information on
their displays so decisions on courses of action can be reached
in a timely manner.
Reports
RigSense information technology streamlines rig reporting
operations. Cumbersome data collection for billing and payroll
purposes is made easy through automated CAODC/IADC
approved reports. Relevant data from the previous day is
populated in the forms, along with new information collected.
NOV can even configure custom reports tailored to meet your
business needs, cutting down on the amount of time spent
administrating various business processes.
Communication and Networking
Whether its communication from sensors to the EDR, between
RigSense stations on the same rig, from a rig to the business
office, or networking several rigs together; the RigSense
platform enables your team to collaborate for fast and accurate
decision making. Ease of use and adaptability are not limited
to the drill floor. The same functionality available to the driller
is available to the drilling engineer, rig supervisor and other key
rig personnel. RigSense rig site workstations can be located
virtually anywhere, providing the same consistent, high quality
information to the company man, tool pusher and mud engineer.
Unit Conversion Capability
Channel units can easily be displayed in either US Customary
(English) or International System (SI or metric).

Remote Access and Business Integration
When you use our WellData website information system, the distance
between your rigs and office is bridged. Reports are always correct and on
time, with the ability to send RigSense reports directly to the home office via
e-mail, or to view them through your web browser anywhere. Customized
reports are provided to meet unique business needs. To provide information
in the most timely manner, automatically populate report information from
WellData to critical business applications.
In addition, NOV has taken this innovation to the next level with WellData/
MobileRT, putting drilling information in the palm of your hand (for instance,
iPhone or BlackBerry smartphones). This mobile application allows
you to view well information from anywhere in the world as if you were
standing on site. WellData/MobileRT is available for any mobile digital
device that can install the Citrix Receiver application.
Features Benefits & Advantages
Block Height Detection
Block height operating ranges are monitored for loss of calibration due to normal rig activities. A block height calibration
wizard displays automatically and offers guidance to setup the depth calibration and maintain data accuracy.
Multiple Language Support English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Chinese are supported.
e-Wildcat Integration
The electronic version of the patented Wildcat autodriller can monitor up to four drilling parameters at the same time,
providing steady-state weight and/or differential pressure at the drill bit to improve wellbore quality and optimize the
rate of penetration.
Wellsite Gas Watch

Setup Configuration and port setup of Wellsite Gas Watch (WSGW) is now presented in a simple, intuitive interface.
Drilling Optimization Support
A dedicated Mechanical Specific Energy (MSE) drillscreen is used for minimizing MSE and optimizing drilling efficiency,
integrating with our Wellsite Performance Drilling Advisor.
3 & 4-pen Strip Chart Display In addition to the 2-pen display, 3 and 4-pen displays are also available.
Toolface Directional survey
Capability
Toolface provides real-time directional survey information for more precise directional and horizontal drilling. Its use
reduces the need for redundant displays, and can be viewed on any onsite RigSense station.
Unit Conversion Channel units can be displayed in either US Customary (English) or International System (SI or metric).
Offset Gamma Plotting Offset the real-time gamma ray values to the actual depth of the tool based on its location in the bottomhole assembly.
e-Totco Multi-shot Survey Ability
Both single and multi-shot e-Totco surveys for optimized controlled vertical drilling. Multi-shot capability enables up to
64 inclination measurements per trip, reducing inclination survey time and costs.
