    Topic : A Person I Admire



    Complete the following passage with the phrases given in the box.

    A Person I Admire

    Throughout my life, I have (1)...and
    many of them have gone (2)... Some of them I
    remember, others I have trouble recalling. There is however, one person who stays firmly
    (3).. This is a person I admire very much. Her name is Yen
    and she is my classmate.

    I have known Yen since primary school and (4)...since
    then. On the first day, I was acquainted with her; she struck me as
    (5)person. She also had a great sense of humour. Being a
    new girl at school, she showed me around and (6)..to my other
    classmates. She was a great companion during my first days in a new school. As I
    gradually(7).., I realized that Yen and I shared the same
    interest in books and music. We had (8)...on those topics, as
    well as many other subjects.

    Later on, I found out that Yen was an orphan. She stayed with her aunt and money
    (9)... Yet, she did not lament her bad luck. Instead, she
    (10)..and did not let it deter her from getting good results. I
    admired her optimistic spirit very much, for a lesser person might spend days down in the dumps

    Yen takes her studies very seriously and always (12)..
    Yet, she is not boastful and you can always depend on her to help you when you dont understand
    how to do something. Many classmates always come up to her asking

    wonderful person and deserves the best. The way I see it, she will have no problems
