Lemonade Stand
Your class needs to raise $100 to go on a field trip. You decide to sell cups of iced tea
and lemonade after school. At the stand, iced tea costs $0.50 per cup and lemonade costs
$0.80 per cup.
1. Give three examples of numbers of cups of each drink you could sell to get $100.
Show all work.
2. On graph paper draw your x and y axes. Label the x-axis cups of iced tea and the yaxis cups of lemonade. Plot your three points and connect them.
3. Using x to represent cups of iced tea and y to represent cups of lemonade, write an
equation in Ax + By = C form to show how many cups of each beverage must be sold to
raise $100.00.
Fill in the blanks with a color or other identifying mark you will use for those points.
4. Find the x-intercept and y-intercepts. Plot these points and label as _________.
5. Select one value that is on the line, but is not an appropriate solution for the problem.
Label it as ___________. Explain why it is not appropriate.
6. Transform your equation into y=mx+b form.
(Use opposite operations to get y by itself.)
