FABRIC TECHNOLOGIST - General Job

Description :
Primary Purpose:. Evaluate fabric mills, Improve the quality level of fabric,
improve performance and solve fabric
production related problems.
Assurance of fabric quality as per M&S standard .

1.Evaluation of dye house /laundry /print unit : Evaluate mills for


capabilities, capacity and quality. Work with them to improve and to get ECP
no through UK ECP certify body .
2.Fabric Development : Takes responsibility for developing new qualities.
Submits accurate technical hangers and test reports to UK technical team on
time to the Critical Path. Agrees all technical exceptions prior to fabric order
placement and ensure up loads information on to CMS . Any exceptions
discuss and communicate with Fabric Manager /Technical Manager .
3.LD/Shade band : Locally approve all LDs and shade band across the depts.
And maintaining the date base of approval .

4.Pre Production :. For new fabrics ensure that fabric pre-productions


tolerances have been documented and agreed prior to production. Attends
Risk Analysis meetings and hand-over meetings, documenting and following
up any fabric & wash related issues.

5.Bulk Fabric :Locally approves bulk hangers and test reports prior to bulk
cutting. Agrees exceptions as per TH approval ,

6.Troubleshooting: Identify potential fabric quality and production issues


upfront and resolve prior to production.
Solve production problems related
to fabric characteristics,

7.Quality assurance :
-Assure the quality of print( strike off ) registration and handle prior send to
UK
-Assure fabric appearance ,shade, print and handle are correct on RS
sample

8.Due diligence test:


-

Ensure due diligence test across the depts. For core lines and
maintain the date base
Conduct routine in house test ( P5A ,P99A Shrinkage and spirality )

9.Suppliers/mill development :
-Arranging induction among new suppliers/mills on M&S way of working
-Arrange training on M&S test method ,REACH/RSL through ITS or SGS
-Arranging technical seminar among suppliers /mill through chemical supplier
like Huntsman /Novozyme

10.File management :
-Technical hanger hard copy arrangement as per type of fabric in file and
maintain data base
-Style file management ensure bulk hanger and pp notes as per stroke wise
available across the depts.
- Organize fabric library
-Organize color library

11Prepare Data base :


Prepare weekly OTT report .
Maintaining mills ECP matrix
updating symbus and put comments in CMS
Additional tasks :
-C41 certification update and regular maintainance of Datacolor, Verivide
Light Box, Conditioning cabinet.
- Color std. ordering through CIS
