Sims 2 + All or Any Expansions

You can use this in any combination of expansions.

If you only have 2 expansions, this menu will also work for you...... the menu will only show the names of
the conversions you place on your DVD.
You can include the original Sims 2 or you can choose to just do the expansions, either way the menu will
still work.
Depending on how many games you include will decide if you need a DVD9 or a DVD5 disc.
A DVD with the original Sims 2 and all these expansions will require a DVD9 disc.
This will take some time to build, but when its finished, the conversion will work normally.
Click install to Install, Patch, Crack and you can play the game...
1) Create a Temp folder on your hardrive.
Name this folder: Sims2_DVD. This will be the name (Label) of our DVD.
2) Download my Sims2_DVD Custom Installer from here and extract the contents of the RAR file to the
Sims2_DVD folder.

NOTE: This way, you wont need to create any folders, all the folders needed are supplied in the rar file.

The Sims 2 (4 CD version)
Follow the instructions in this conversion, by Ewoud & DVT, to create a DVD version.
Then continue with the conversion using the DVD version of Sims 2.
The Sims 2 (DVD version)
3) Copy all the contents from the Sims2 DVD to the Sims2_DVD\01_Sims2 folder.
Using the Notepad, open the Sims2_DVD\01_Sims2\AutoRun\Autorun.cfg file and Change:
EReg=1 to EReg=0
Download and copy/extract a NoDVD/Fixed EXE to Sims2_DVD\Cracks\Sims2\TSBin folder.
NOTE: To install any of the expansions, The Sims 2 must be patched first!
But the patch has a CDcheck so it cant be used with our DVD.
I have created a little program to do the patching for you but first it will need some files.
Download: The Sims 2 patch v1.0.0.999.
Install the Game but dont crack it...
Patch the Game using the original DVD/CD.
The following is a list of files I found which are updated with the patch.
Look for any inconsistency in the dates the files were created to check if you have them all.
Because there are multiple versions out there, I cant guarantee my list is correct.
Most of the files from the patch were created between November 2004 and January 2005.
From the installed game folder CSBin, copy the 3 files (listed below) to the:
Sims2_DVD\Patches\01_Sims2\Patchfiles\CSBin folder.

The Sims 2 - University Expansion
NOTE: This game does not have a fixed EXE. To play the game without a mini image, you will need to
install a newer expansion excluding Nightlife.

4) Copy all the contents from CD2 to Sims2_DVD\02_Sims2Ep1 folder.

Copy all the contents from CD1 to Sims2_DVD\02_Sims2Ep1, overwrite any files if asked.
Using the Notepad, open the Sims2_DVD\02_Sims2Ep1\AutoRun\Autorun.cfg file and Change:
EReg=1 to EReg=0
Extracted from the Sims2_DVD.rar file is a folder called: Compressed
Using WinZip (or similar tool), extract all the files and folders from the Compressed.zip file, located on
CD2, to the Sims2_DVD\Compressed folder.
Also extract all the files and folders from the Compressed.zip file, located on CD1, to the:
Sims2_DVD\Compressed folder. Overwrite any files if asked.
Re-zip all the files and folders within the Sims2_DVD\Compressed folder to one file called:
compressed.zip
NOTE: dont include the folder compressed, only the files and folders within it...
If you are using Winrar then possibly the easiest way to do this would be to select all the folders and files
inside the Compressed folder, right click the files and choose, Add to Compressed.zip from the menu.
Copy the newly created compressed.zip file to the Sims2_DVD\02_Sims2Ep1 folder, overwriting the
original file.
Delete the contents of the Compressed folder, you dont need the files anymore.
Using the Notepad, open the file Sims2_DVD\02_Sims2Ep1\common_filelist.txt. Change any lines
which start with a 2 to a 1.
(Example: Change the 2,1,path\file to 1,1,path\file. Do these all the way down the list! Make sure all the
first numbers have been change to a 1).
NOTE: The first number indicates what CD the file is located on. Since we are now using just one DVD
for all the files they can all be changed to a 1.
The Sims 2 - Nightlife Expansion
NOTE: This game does not have a fixed EXE. To play the game without a mini image, you will need to
install a newer expansion.
5) Copy all the contents from CD2 to the Sims2_DVD\03_Sims2Ep2 folder.
Copy all the contents from CD1 to the Sims2_DVD\03_Sims2Ep2 folder. Overwrite any files if asked.
Using the Notepad, open the Open Sims2_DVD\03_Sims2Ep2\AutoRun\Autorun.cfg file and change:
EReg=1 to EReg=0
Extracted from the Sims2_DVD.rar file is a folder called: Compressed
Using WinZip (or similar tool), extract all the files and folders from the Compressed.zip file, located on
CD2, to the Sims2_DVD\Compressed folder.
Also extract all the files and folders from the Compressed.zip file, located on CD1, to the
Sims2_DVD\Compressed folder. Overwrite any files if asked.

first numbers have been change to a 1).

There is a patch out for Nightlife: v1.2.0.355
If you want to patch the game, the same problems occur as with The Sims 2.
Also, the same solution is possible.

Patch the Game using the original CD

11) Copy all the contents from the CD to Sims2_DVD\09_Sims2HHS

11) Copy all the contents from the CD to the Sims2_DVD\10_Sims2Ep5 folder.
Using the Notepad, open the Sims2_DVD\10_Sims2Ep5\AutoRun\Autorun.cfg file and Change:
EReg=1 to EReg=0
Download and copy/extract a NoCD/Fixed EXE to the Sims2_DVD\Cracks\10_Sims2Ep5\TSBin folder.
Serials
12) Using the Notepad, open the Sims2_DVD\Autorun.inf file, supplied with the menu.
Replace all the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX with your serials.
NOTE: My menu can not enter the serials automatically like in some other conversions.
A little window will open at the top of your screen from which you can copy/past the serial during install.
13) Burn the contents of the Temp folder to a DVD with the Label: Sims2_DVD
NOTE: Test with either an ISO or DVDRW first!!!
INFO about the menu
* The menu searches the DVD for all the games and will only show the games it finds in a list.
If you dont have all the expansions, you can still use this menu.
If a new expansion comes out, just copy all the files to a new folder using the next naming format:
Game number_CD label (like: 11_Sims2EP6)
The menu will automatically adjust with the new expansion.
Patching:
The patch button is only available if you have a patch inside the Sims2_DVD\Patches\{game code} folder.
Not all expansions have a patch, if they do come out, just copy it to the folder Sims2_DVD\Patches\{game
code}
{game code} = 01_Sims2, 02_Sims2Ep1, 03_Sims2Ep2, etc...
This conversion will only work for the Sims 2 patch v1.0.0.999! Which was the newest patch when this
conversion was written.
If a new patch comes out for either The Sims 2 or Nightlife, you cant put it on the DVD.
(or try using the above method and hope for the best)
Cracking:
The crack button is only available if you have a crack inside the Sims2_DVD\Cracks\{game code}\TSBin
folder.
The menu will look in the windows registry where the game is installed and copy the crack automatically.
The installer will create a backup of the file it replaces with the extension .bak
INFO about the patchers
The Patch_TheSims2.exe and the Patch_TheSims2Nightlife.exe will patch those games with the files it
finds in the Patchfiles folder.
It will copy the entire folder to the root of the game folder, overwriting the original files.

When a new patch comes out, try searching for the altered files.
You can find them by looking at the creation date for all the files.
Copy an altered file to its respective folder inside the Patchfiles folder.
INFO about the Uninstall Program
All the games are installed in different folders, so uninstalling must be done one at a time.
When creating this conversion/menu, I had to (un)install the games many times... very time consuming.
I've created this program to help me a little.
It will delete all the Games... Files, Registry Settings, Shortcuts and Saved Games with just one click.
With all games installed and running the uninstaller, from a mounted ISO file, it took about 20 seconds to
uninstall everything.
It searches for all the games you have installed and it will show them in a list with a checkbox in front of
the names.
A check means Uninstall the game.
Unchecked means Leave it alone!
So you could use it to uninstall 2 of the 8 games.
Even for 1 game, this program is faster than the original uninstaller...
The menu is linked directly to the program so clicking it in the menu will run it.
If you want to have the program on you hardrive, it is located in the Sims2_DVD\Uninstaller folder.
Just copy the exe file, it does not need to be in a specific location and it does not need any additional files.
The menu will probably work with newer expansions... the Uninstaller DOES NOT! It can only search and
destroy everything up until Seasons (which was the newest expansion at the time this conversion was
written).
