Liebherr presents the new 200 DR 5-10 derrick crane, a special
luffing jib crane designed for disassembling tower cranes from
tall buildings. Derrick cranes are inherently suited to lifting heavy
loads and are used stationarily in the cantilevered construction
of steel bridges, for building multi-storey buildings with steel
skeletal structures and for special disassembly work.
The new 200 DR 5-10 has been designed as a disassembly
crane to bring down other cranes from multi-storey buildings,
bridge pylons or telecommunications towers. The dimensions
and weights of all individual parts on the new crane are therefore such that they are disassembled exclusively with the help
of a very small hoist and removed via the buildings lift shafts.
Adaptable all-rounder for heavy loads
The maximum radius of the 200 DR 5-10 can be fixed at either
20 or 25 m. With the maximum 20-m radius jib, up to 10 t can
be hoisted with a double reeve anywhere within range. The jib
offering a 25-m radius can lift 7.5 t at the jib head and 10 t at the
19-m inflection point of its load curve. This ensures that even
heavy components can be safely lifted down from great heights
and at a sufficient distance from the building.
Stepless drives, safety controls
The 200 DR 5-10 derrick crane has been fitted with frequencycontrolled, stepless drives for all movements. The luffing gear
has an output of 37 kW, while the hoist gear offers 45 kW.
When operating on buildings many hundred metres tall, safety
is of the essence. The safety-related PLC control system on the
Liebherr 200 DR 5-10 derrick crane monitors all movements
made by the tried-and-tested functions used on all Liebherr
luffing jib cranes. Lifting height, load moment, jib incline and
slewing gear are all monitored and backed up by sensors.
Using remote controls, the crane operator can operate the
machine from the most advantageous position.

Rapid self-disassembly
No other crane is needed to disassemble the new Liebherr
derrick crane; just a simple hoist. Liebherr supplies a complete
package comprising high-lift truck, forklift with weighing device
and fold-away workshop crane.
