Sierra Neveda Corporation/MSI (8/2003-9/2010)
Chief Product Engineer
Provide systems engineering support for requirements definition, system design, and systems
specialties analysis for multiple programs including the AFRL DSX spacecraft program.
Worked as DSX spacecraft lead responsible for the bus level design, top level specification and
interface control documents, system trades, system analysis and verification reports, mass
properties, power, data and electrical resource allocation management and configuration control.
Deep Impact Payload Flight Operations Engineer (April 2005- July 2005)
After customer encountered in-flight anomalies, I was specifically requested by the JPL to join the
Deep Impact Flight Operations team to assist instrument operations to ensure the stated science
team objectives for the Deep Impact mission were met. Provided review of instrument imaging

sequences to ensure imaging and spacecraft slews were timed correctly, as well as on-console
support of flight operations during instrument imaging activities for a successful resolution of the
anomalies.
Lockheed Martin Astronautics (1981-7/2003)
Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Payload Accommodations Lead
Managed the Payload Accommodations Team, defining the science payload to spacecraft
mechanical, electrical, communication protocol, software, and command & telemetry interface
requirements, ensuring the design accommodates the science needs, supporting the
development and implementation of a test program that verifies that the payload to spacecraft
interfaces are achieved. These activities required interfacing with the customer (JPL), the
science teams (JPL, APL, Ball Aerospace, Malin Space Science Systems, the Italian Space
Agency) and the in-house engineering team.

Mars Odyssey Payload Accommodations Lead
Managed the Payload Accommodations Team, defining and verifying the science payload to
spacecraft interface requirements. Provided operations support to the program during the cruise
and early mapping phases of the mission. The Odyssey spacecraft is currently in orbit around
Mars with payloads fulfilling and exceeding science objectives. These activities required
interfacing with the customer (JPL), the science teams (JPL, JSC, Arizona State University, Malin
Space Science Systems, the University of Arizona and the Russian Space Agency) and the inhouse engineering team.
System Environments Engineering
Performed space radiation analyses that quantified the free field radiation environments and
calculated the radiation level experienced by the sensitive electronics components. Developed
and operated high cleanliness level vacuum chamber facility for the x-ray spectrometer currently
operational on the CHANDRA spacecraft. Performed launch vehicle and spacecraft lifecycle
contamination analyses and authoring Contamination Control Plans and Contamination Analysis
Reports.
Nuclear Hardness and Survivability Engineering
Modified and operated analytical tools used to predict nuclear blast effects on ICBMs. Air blast,
thermal radiation and x-radiation environment and effects analysis were performed supporting the
Peacekeeper and Small ICBM program.
Mass Properties Engineering
Performed mass properties functions for ground and flight components of the Peacekeeper
Missile System.
Thiokol Corporation (now ATK Thiokol) 1980-1981
Mass Properties Engineering
Performed mass properties functions for NASAs Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Motors program.
